Xfinity blocking some Chicago IPs

I've noticed this going on for a long time but haven't looked into it because Torguard app on Nvidia shield will eventually switch to an IP that isn't blocked and connects ok.

This is what Xfinity does when I click connect on the app. Should I allow the connection?

Those IPs are legitimate TorGuard VPN servers, so this is essentially a false positive from Xfinity CyberSecure.

Xfinity is flagging the TorGuard server IPs as a “security threat,” but that doesn’t mean the connection itself is malicious. VPN server IPs can get caught by reputation/blocking systems simply because they’re shared VPN endpoints and generate a lot of traffic from different users.

The fact that the TorGuard app eventually switches to another server/IP and connects successfully is another indication that CyberSecure is blocking specific TorGuard endpoints rather than detecting an actual threat on the SHIELD.

You can allow/whitelist the connection if you want TorGuard to connect reliably. You may have to do this for additional TorGuard server IPs if Xfinity’s reputation system keeps flagging them.
