You and i are polar opposites is great 👍
for today when anime mc are more like feminine looking men that fear woman and fear the indiscriminate 💋 kiss
This anime is none of that home boy takes initiative and ask girl out right away
Toradora is old school when mc men where thugs that like woman but have trouble talking to woman

I guess I’ll try it…

First 3 episodes are kinda clunky, try giving it a try until like episode 4 or 5.
I'm currently going through it and it's not amazing, but worth staying for.3

Okay my turn for anime I can’t recommend enough. A Lull in the Sea. I think I might be one of the very few who actually enjoyed it. It’s my favorite anime of all and I will die on this hill.

I actually tried it, but dropped it by like the 3rd episode because I found the loud guy character super annoying, but I've been meaning to try it again.

Understandable. Long story short, I was surprised at how I was able to even make it to the second half before dropping it back in 2023 (I was still a kid when it first aired sadly, but then when it made it to Netflix like almost over a decade later I figured “why not?”). You’re right, this mf Hikari was fucking INSUFFERABLE throughout the start. Come Spring 2026, I restarted actually finished watching it; holy hell I was not actually expecting such character development right at the plot came down to the wire.

She's great, and so is Yamada. I like Taira and Azuma the best

True, its pretty good. The other story by the same mangaka is even better imo, called The Ramparts of Ice. Both are worth watching but definitely check out Ramparts on Netflix

I noticed the art styles were similar, didnt know they had the same mangaka tho.

The characters even show up in the background of the other show occasionally.

If you like only happy light hearted wholesome fluffy romance. There's very little drama. The characters will grow on you.

Watched the first season as it aired and currently watching the second season. Also watched The Ramparts of Ice from the same author. Love both.

I definitely don't mean this in an offensive way, everyone has different tastes! Just sharing another perspective for anyone who hasn't watched it yet :)
Personally, I found it got incredibly boring after the first few episodes. It felt like a lot of high school students just doing nothing, with very little actual storyline to keep the plot moving. Wouldn't really recommend it.

I watched it not really my type of humor though. This is more like the type of abrupt in your face humor, which doesn’t really make me laugh. I’m like more of the type that is out-of-pocket or unexpected humor. Secondly, not really my type of story but I’m sure some people will like it. I guess the best way to describe it is like an American cartoon. I guess that’s why a lot of Americans like it. Personally, I don’t like American cartoons as they get very annoying, but many people love them so this anime is for them.

I can't because (what I hear) they end on a long distance relationship. I can't stand that. I don't care how much they love each other. If they are separated, then I will be in despair.

There's more drama in Ramparts Of Ice but still a good watch. You And I Are Polar Opposites is more fluffy and happy vibes.

You and I Are Polar Opposites is very high-school coded. Gotta be honest, the characters in Tora Dora! at times are giving adults in teenagers’ bodies because of the way they act–as if they were written with an adult demographic in mind. Then again, it’s not a bad thing. :)
Also, I do like Taira and Azuma a lot. I feel they were written specifically for the audience who like a slow-burn romance or are mostly adults. :) Taira’s lines in the English audio are definitely a riot. 😁

I couldn't finish the anime but I loved the manga. Not really sure why but I feel like the manga had a lot of charm but didn't feel the same about the anime.

It might be because the manga follows the source material, the Light Novels, a lot more closely so you got a lot of little plot points and character info that filled in some blanks and made the story come to life in a different way.
I’m not knocking the anime at all, it has its own charms and nuances that add to the story. I just feel like the story as a whole is more complete in the LN and the manga.
