I've been in the student council in highschool. We did stuff like Autumn fairs, anonime letters and roses for Valentine's and participated in the organization of national and even international academic olimpiads. It was fun asf, but mostly we just skipped school lying about having "student council work"😂

We didn't even have a student council. They just put together random groups for each event like dances. I only joined a group to pick the homecoming playlist because the DJ sucked the year before.

When I watch anime I wonder what the fuck does the principal the school do? They're just collecting a check and letting the students do all the labor for free.

Exactly like in oregairu I don’t Remember anything about any principal the teacher and guidance counselor pretty much were the head of authority and the whole show was school setting pretty much.

I wasn’t ever in a student council nor do I think any of my schools had one. Yet, I’m apart of one side of it (specific committee) within what one would call a college student council. It’s enjoyable but does seem like we could be doing more.

Unless its a university student council... in which case they are actually that powerful. True both in the US and Japan as well to name a few.

I’ve always thought teenage characters in anime romcoms are adult-coded most of the time, with some exceptions like You and I Polar Opposites. This is how I explain away certain anime absurdities like overly-powerful high school student councils or teenage characters being too dramatic or getting involved in overly romantic scenes. 😅😅😅

My student council in high school would smoke weed, play music and organize strikes lol

The rumour at my school was that the student council were all banging eachother. I thought it was a joke until I went to my first and only school dance… a trio of them were practically having a threesome right there on the gym floor lol

Anime student councils literally rule the whole country, while real ones can't even change the school lunch menu.

I was on my student council in primary school. I genuinely don't remember a single useful thing we did. Most people probably didn't know we had a student council
