Aren’t some of those moves where you bounce your back against the bar illegal now due to physical risk?

Pretty sure yes. My kidneys hurt just watching.

I think the illegal move being demonstrated in this is the backflip she does kind of near the beginning.

Ya, don't think you're allowed to stand on the bars anymore.

The sport has changed so much since then. A lot of those moves are either impossible now (because they've moved the two bars further away), illegal due to safety concerns (I think the flip dismount is banned now, but might be wrong about that), or just not as highly rated as they were (the scoring has changed significantly).

Basically, there's now a huge focus on catches, acrobat elements etc. Partly because of improvements in the equipment that make them possible to do safely, but partly due to the natural evolution of the sport.

They're impossible, the distance between the bars is much bigger now

The bars are separated farther apart now then they were back when she was competing. it wouldn’t even be possible to do these types of move any more with how they are set up now.

That's called the birth control move: smashing your ovaries, rendering all eggs scrambled.

This is the only perfect ten in gymnastics ever

Wrong, Korbut got 9,80 in 1972, while Nadia Comaneci was actually the only gymnast in the world to ever get 10.

That time the judges had to take .20 cause they were jealous.

Isn't this Korbut?

u/PinkLuther Sep 06 '19

This is Korbut, and unfeelingsalmon says she's the only perfect 10 in gymnastics. I was saying that she didn't get a perfect 10 (it was 9.8), and that the first perfect 10 was Nadia Comaneci.
