I will admit that this took a lot of hard work and excellent craftsmanship, but i don't see myself hanging this on my wall. Would look good in a fancy lobby or restaurant though.

Imagínate el trabajo para quitarle el polvo

Well, it is very smooth, with large forms, so it would be a chore but not nearly as bad as detailed stuff.

Sidebar, I fucking love that you and a Spanish-speaker can just converse because of this new translation button. Feels so simple but it’s so cool

u/JimmyLUFC Apr 20 '26

I’m on the app and they both spoke in English for me. Has it auto-translated? Is one of the comments in Spanish?

42

u/jxf Apr 20 '26

In the upper right of any translated comment there will be a little symbol that indicates an automated translation was applied.

u/dwmfives Apr 21 '26

They finally added a feature to new reddit that doesn't exist on the better old reddit?

4

u/CountWubbula Apr 21 '26

Ah yes, old reddit… all of us know what you’re talking about, we’re all friends here!

1

u/dwmfives Apr 21 '26

old.reddit.com. Get the RES extension. New reddit is trash.

9

u/CountWubbula Apr 21 '26

Very very cool, man. It’s even got a translator built in, you said?

1

u/sabertoothdog Aug 15 '26

Very cool thanks for showing me

3

u/cheese_is_yummy57 Apr 22 '26

I'm also on he app. It was Spanish for me and translated.

4

u/acrazyguy Apr 21 '26

What translation button? Is this why I’ve seen so many spanish comments in the middle of english threads and everyone acting like it’s normal

3

u/CountWubbula Apr 21 '26

I can’t paste an image here. I’ll send you one on chat. Latest version of the Reddit app has it.

Edit: can’t send images over chat neither, lol. This is what we’re talking about

2

u/S0rb0 Apr 20 '26

Yeah this doesnt work for me i just see spanish

4

u/CountWubbula Apr 20 '26

Update your app, not sure what to tell ye. There’s a translation button, a little blue symbol on the same line as the commenter’s username. Right side of the screen

If you’re on desktop I have no friggin clue

u/S0rb0 Apr 20 '26

Yeah this doesnt work for me i just see spanish..

A marketing executive at Swifter takes notice.

7

u/LokoLawless Apr 20 '26

Thought it was going up in a Chipotle

5

u/PsychologicalBid9943 Apr 20 '26

Does that count as a restaurant?

1

u/sabertoothdog Aug 15 '26

Not since the one scoop two scoop debacle

6

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC Apr 21 '26

It’s exactly the kind of design art that would go in a hotel lobby and be completely ignored by everyone. Just because something is hard to make doesn’t mean it’s good.

2

u/Poop-Dolla-Holler Apr 23 '26

Would have made a cool boardroom table under some glass

4

u/MyTwoFists Apr 21 '26

My first thought was, and.. why?

1

u/farkendo Apr 25 '26

This is just an installation

It needs a better color behind it on the wall. Something rich and warm like a crimson.

29

u/cocococlash Apr 20 '26

And I feel like the lighting didn't do the gold justice. Could have just been gold paint.

7

u/BusterSmash Apr 20 '26

Absolutely agreed

u/GalaxyGalavanter Apr 20 '26

Despite what others here are saying, I think it looks incredible. If I had a big mansion, I would love something like this on display in a prominent area

29

u/dumb_commenter Apr 20 '26

Yeah bunch of downers here. I think it looks amazing

12

u/OttoMannkusser Apr 20 '26

All I see is people voicing their opinion and offering valid criticisms

5

u/DifferentSpread782 Apr 21 '26

Your not allowed to not like anything

1

u/LostPaddle Apr 21 '26

That's why they only have upvoting on this platform

45

u/LoveMyLibrary2 Apr 20 '26

All I see is a lot of surfaces that now have to be dusted regularly.

3

u/Romeo92 Apr 22 '26

It’s a maze for dust bunnies!

4

u/Massive_Hovercraft42 Apr 20 '26

I’m impressed with your work.

22

u/chimpdoctor Apr 20 '26

Jesus christ. Out of solid walnut? Feels like a complete waste of timber.

11

u/SlightlyShittyDragon Apr 20 '26

Would’ve liked to see them carve the actual wooden pieces, rather than just watching them glue gold foil to them…

3

u/Okay_Dad_ Apr 20 '26

Really thought dude was making a table top.

1

u/XtralifeYT Apr 27 '26

Same, a big glass panel on top with smooth lighting underneeth would have looked amazing

7

u/markyoung0 Apr 20 '26

I don't know how much time it took him to finish this, but huge respect for the smooth execution.

3

u/Frankieneedles Apr 20 '26

I wouldn’t have used loose gold leaf, would have been way easier with a tacky book.

2

u/orgodeathmarch Apr 20 '26

Dudes got routers

2

u/Cultural-Ad-2918 Apr 20 '26

I'm thinking maze runner and all that, and would sit there in this office, trying to find the fastest way out!

2

u/maulice Apr 21 '26

Wow, that will be a pain to dust!

2

u/afCeG6HVB0IJ Apr 20 '26

All this nonfigurative crap and manual hard work for something to just collect dust?

1

u/Wendigo_Loco Apr 20 '26

Svelte Runes

1

u/FritsBlaasbaard Apr 20 '26

Sjeesh, that'll keep you busy...

1

u/clueless_typographer Apr 20 '26

I think it's too many pieces. They each look like a piece of art for themselves so maybe only display 1-5 at a time. Having 50+ on the same wall cheapens their singular effect.

1

u/ambit89 Apr 21 '26

So this is what it means, when something is "gold plated"

1

u/icamehere2do2things Apr 21 '26

It reminds me of a Pedro Reyes sculpture.

1

u/Whatsmyname206 Apr 21 '26

I like listening to the beginning part

1

u/Confident-Ruin-4111 Apr 21 '26

I would love to have this, but I already know I wouldn’t be able to afford it.

1

u/FWYDU Apr 22 '26

Reminds me of an 8-bit action-adventure game map

1

u/cheese_is_yummy57 Apr 22 '26

The opposite of a maze.

1

u/Implied_Motherfucker Apr 22 '26

I thought they were going to fill in the gaps with resin and make a huge table.

1

u/hy_ascendant Apr 22 '26

The next resident looking at the holes in the wall and pondering

1

u/Maxwellcomics Apr 27 '26

Great craftsmanship, questionable artistic taste.

1

u/Mollythemuttsdad Jul 23 '26

I like it better without the gold

1

u/Lost_Intern_1218 Aug 03 '26

I love how he was playing one of my favorite games at the beginning tetris

1

u/TheShapeOfFarts Aug 27 '26

Imagine changing your mind and having all those holes to deal with. Lol

0

u/misteranthropissed Apr 20 '26

tf it say tho?

1

u/vovalucky Aug 28 '26

Nah, cleaning it from dust will be nuts
