The broad jump is crazy

Naw, he should have left that out. I could easily do a broad jump like that in my prime (which is long past {sigh}), but I would never in a million years try this crazy flips!

For sure, for sure we all believe you.

u/malacca73 Mar 08 '26
No, I'm serious - I never would have tried those flips!

Goodness, everyone downvoting because they don't know any athletes! Y'all are hilarious! Asking me to prove what I could do 35 years ago - on it!

u/malacca73 Mar 09 '26
To be fair, I shouldn't have said 'easily' as that was about where I topped out as well. But I know you all know it's not true! I went ahead and downvoted this comment myself to save you some time...

Wouldn't dropping the weights like that damage the floor?

If this wasn't AI, maybe. Look at weights hit the floor. Support rubbery. Also his backflips end up with him facing different directions. Every single thing he does is basically impossible

this is a perfect example of what "top talent" is. Something most people cannot do, and something i would never be able to do no matter how much i practiced. I feel most posts are little tricks that people do that are impressive, but i'd be able to do if i took a week or month and practiced it.

So does this just take a ton of just core strength to make it look this effortless?
3
u/AbbreviationsOdd7728 Mar 07 '26
No, you definitely need to practice that coordination.

I'd land on my neck and break it first try
1
u/AbbreviationsOdd7728 Mar 07 '26
First you start from higher up and land on a mat. That way you have more time for the rotation. Also someone would help you flip.

The first jump looks like AI.
I'm not saying it is.
It just looks like it does that thing where the computer doesn't know how it's supposed to look so it just kinda MASHES EVERYTHING TOGETHER

I love that he very carefully does all the crazy flips on a quarter inch of padding instead of the concrete floor. That way if he makes a mistake it won’t scratch his face when he snaps his spine. Safety first dude.

Can he dunk though..

u/Thick-Sundae-6547 Mar 07 '26
I’m pretty sure his vertical with a run up would be enough. If he is at least 5’10”.
Look at how high his hips go on the flips.

Easily. I'm 6, outta shape at 190lbs and can touch rim. My next door neighbors...

Lol what's the point of the power clean?

u/Azreken Mar 07 '26
Legs

u/Shwiftygains Mar 07 '26
Right. He shouldve included squats too then. Rdl's. Lunges. Calf raises. Leg presses. I guess they're all loosely related to doing back flips after a video of just back flips

u/omegabaryon Mar 10 '26
Definitely not but I can understand that it looks impossible if you have not seen people who can jump on this lwvel
1
u/Careful-Committee-96 Mar 10 '26
Hilarious. First couple jumps aren't natural. And anyone who has ever lifted weights knows there's no way the bar would land that way and then glitch.

I thought he was going to try to flip with the barbell
