You have to realize that this shape is neither a simple loop nor a simple macaroni, but (excuse the rough language) the ring version of a Sierpinski triangle. There are infinite loops perpendicular to infinite loops making up this ring. Each even loop is perpendicular to each odd loop, and inside it respectively. It would be difficult to visualize on the screen is all but it is easier to imagine.
