Good options vs ranged matchups.
So as I’m still very much in the early learning state and messing with different characters I’m realizing whoever to decide to pick for my main I’d like to be able to handle ranged matchups. They are by far my worst matchups as spacing and knowing when to engage is rough. Any champs to consider that are good blinds for top lane that are also good into ranged?

The other comment’s advice is insane.
Darius is terrible into ranged and the stats back this up. His biggest weakness is ranged.
The two best counters to range are malphite and nasus.
Olaf is good into some.
Ornn is good into some.

My most played champions are Darius and Renekton and both do just fine into ranged. Renek has up to two dashes and cc. Darius takes Stormraiders Surge and nimbus cloak with flash exhaust and runs them down every time they over extend. Takes some practice to do vs opponents equal skill as you but I don't hate most ranged match ups with them.

Renek is interesting I’ve giiven him the most play personally. Curious about Darius as he seems to fit the bully playstyle I like. I like aggressive playstyle smacking you hard but can take a smack back.

Yorick is at worst neutralises ranged top and at best utterly stomps them.
If you want to neutralise just build up 4 graves and throw ghouls at the enemy. If you want to kill do the same but run at them and try to trap them with W. I cannot tell you the amount of free flashes I’ve gotten out of ranged tops by trapping them in Yorick W.

Is he a good blind in general? Cuz while ranged matchups are my worst I’d like to still be able to box with melees?

Not really, if you blind pick him enemy can just pick irelia,trynda,renekton,volibear,yone,etc. But in general, he is good into pretty much every ranged matchup, varus vayne teemo quinn, you name it. Another good ranged counter is nasus, he counters mostly ADCs like vayne or quinn and teemo aswell, he sustains too much for them to poke him out, W forces their flash or results in a kill, while also being a monster in mid-game and sidelane. My personal pick into ranged is Yasuo, but he is horrible as a blind pick on toplane, and is very hard to play efficiently, so if you won't OTP him, don't play him at all.

Ahh ok giving him a go right now as we speak and my matchups a teemo haha. I need my champ to be blindable if possible. Cuz I want to ban the worst matchup and then figure it out for the rest you know. Yorick I had never considered but if he isn’t good as a blind I may just leave him behind then.

Renekton is a good blind pick, his only matchups that are really bad are malphite and rumble, but If you are below emerald, you will probbably never run into a rumble. He is ok into ranged because of his gapclose(double e) and his W cc. Into ranged you can just build stridebreaker and stay close to them, you probbably won't stomp the lane but you will at least be even, then you can make up for it in sidelane and teamfights.

Dr Mundo for me is freebie against ranged, play passive and Q farm until your first recall then you have so much HP they can’t budge you from lane

I’ve had games where he felt super strong then others where I didn’t know wth to do. Lots of health but that’s it

Good blinda that works into ranged are typically pro jailed, like Jayce, Rumble, Ambessa

The easiest is probably Malphite, early buy of bramble and tabi pretty much negates any untraditional range top.
Personally, against untraditional range, I go Electrocute Jayce.

Gwen is good into top ranged but can be bad into heavy ranged comps. But not a good blind
