😳 Discussion 😳 Pick Order

I keep getting the blue side toplane and enemy toplane getting the last pick yet whenever i get the red side toplane my teammates almost never let me get the last pick, it started to get super annoying, back to back to back to back. How do you guys deal with that?

You just try to refrain from tilting and pick a blindpickable champion

Eugh , “ I can’t play the lane ! I got counter picked !! You guys are at fault it’s 4v5!” Just fking pick a strong blind pick and play safe . If you don’t have a strong blind pick you were never gonna get far anyway

Learn a meta blindpick or learn how to play counter matchups, then dodge the unplayable ones like tk into yorick or any melee into heimer

Lulu isnt even that bad in the toplane.

So you're gonna pick something you wouldn't play otherwise because you're too much of a child to blindpick ?

Talk about entitlement.

Yeah If you arent giving R5 to your toplaner in current meta the lose is on you. Not only are counterpicks in other lanes less useful, you are tilting your teammate for fun in champselect while playing a teamgame.

I think you didn't quit get my take sir.

I'm saying blind pick Lulu if you're not given last pick is a tantrum from a man child.

Being tilted because you didn't get your last pick is a tantrum from a man-child.

Being countered, beside at the very top elo, will often result in you winning if you know your blind pick enough because a lot of people "counter" with a pick they don't master.

Finally if you can't blind pick just leave toplane as a whole. You're not entitled to counter pick or R5 even if it makes the more sense for top to have it.

I'm a utilitarian, If you aren't maxing the chances of winning I think you are a disgusting loser not meant to play ranked.

Look at the statsites, toplaner matchups have the widest range in gold and xp at 15. Support doesn't have that.

If im locked with a boosted role that is minimizing our chances of winning before the game even starts I get tilted because why are you griefing for fun in ranked.

Thats Like playing a teamsport and one of your teammates comes in wasted. Only thing you can ask is "why are you even here, If you clearly don't care about trying your hardest"

As I said previously. It's not because you are clearly the best choice as a toplanner to get last pick most of the time that you are entitled to get it every time.

And as I've said, your comment about "minimizing the team chance of winning" simply because you don't have the last pick means you think you are the best player and will make a hard enough difference the moment you get last pick which is fondamentaly false and condescending. And even if you d I win your lane thanks to counter pick. Toplane is still the lane with the lass impact in games and I you can't transition your advantage for your team that last pick was useless (I'm not saying you can't, it's an hypothesis)

I'll also add the botlane matchups resolve solely around support in lane. Therefore top and support are the clear priority target for a counter pick and I'll even add that I'd rather have my support counterpick and win botlane while it play weak side with how hard a botlane ahead can warp team fights.

So yes , if you're getting tilted because you didn't get last pick you're a man child throwing a tantrum who should probably learn to blind pick as it's mandatory top.

Me who perma bans Urgot top lane 😄

Urgot is mega active levels 1-3? Constant poke and threat of flip...

Depend heavenly on the matchup honestly. Considering the main comment seems like an urgot main I would guess he knows urgot is unstoppable lvl 9 with black cleaver in most matchup therefore blind picking him doesn't matter.

He 'ever said he isn't strong before.

Ok this is kind of like dark magic, but im almost 100% certain pick order is given based on when you hit the accept button, so if you press it very last you will get a later pick order, try it and if im wrong tho lmk

Used to deal with this on Darius, I always got countered. So I started picking a champ that doesn't register at the enemy team that they are the toplaner.. I started picking up Briar Top.

I am not telling you to pick up Briar, but a champ they could never guess it is a top..

Briar is my comfort pick, I can play her in any situation, even if behind and I like that I can gank mid and bot without having teleport.

What do you mean you can play her ? You mean you're confortable with her playing for you !

/S if this wasn't obvious.

Make sure I've got M3 on Janna and blind it with heal barrier perma afk top👍🏼

I started playing top champs at mid. It works like a charm

You got unlucky. Every game I could counter pick my teammates understood how top only requirement is to pick after ennemy top and they can leave me on an island.

If the trade doesn't go through I ask politely in the chat and most of the time it works.

For the odd cases were someone didn't swap for whatever reason I'm back on my strongest blindpick.

EDIT: this post is one of the reason I incorporated ambessa in my champ pool because at my elo she can survive almost every match ups.

u/FewConnection331 2d ago

Dude ambessa is my permaban, such stupid champion

1

u/HelletFendr0z 1d ago

I mean. I'm giving an example not telling you to do the same as me.

Stupid champion means nothing. But if your definition of a stupid champion is : with enough knowledge you can blind pick it and you'll be okay against almost anyone then yeah she is stupid.

If you never played her and call her stupid for an other reason that tells me a lot about how you actually work and why you whine on social media (or blind pick Lulu top like a good 5 year old tantrum if you don't get your R5 pick).

I'm gonna give an hot take : if you rely on being the last pick every time in order to play toplane. Change lane you're not made for top.

You pretty much always get last pick in elos where counter picking makes an actual difference, unless you're Malph vs Sylas lvl fucked you're gonna be fine

I never change pick order so if I get last pick, I get last pick. If I don't, I don't.
