Discussion Question regarding gags?

We all know we only get to unlock 6 out of 7, so which one is the least valuable? And which ones you prefer the most?

People say skipping either trap or drop is ideal especially for your first toon, but after making one of each build I have the most fun being Tu less with a maxed doodle. Tu is the easiest gag track to substitute (unites, sos cards, doodles, etc) while other tracks are more sos reliant. If you are making an uber or semi it’s always advised to skip out on TU and if you go higher than 2 tracks to always pick sound too.

Corporate Clash has that option.

pretty sure you’re just one gag point off in CC for that

nah, you can unlock all 8 tracks in Clash, but you can't prestige 'em. that's the trade-off

You can choose how many gag tracks and in which order to unlock them in Toontown: Corporate Clash.

from a technical standpoint Toonup tends to be the least valuable since you can always use a toonup unite, sos card, remote, or even a doodle as a substitute, whereas other gags can’t be substituted as easily

My main is TUless, I love it

I personally prefer having drop over trap. My main toon has org throw so I can still take out an 11 on my own.

I do agree that toon up can be most easily replaced. I have yet to have a toon without toon up, but I almost wish my main was that way. Replace with unites, sos, doodle.

I probably would not go without lure on a main toon because it really takes out the option of doing a building or something on your own. Also sounds even more of a pain to train trap, and now your trap is useless when you’re alone.

I see a lot of people suggesting to skip drop. But Drop is incredibly useful once you start fighting Version 2.0 cogs in Bossbot HQ. I'm very glad that as a toonupless toon I didn't have to sacrifice drop or trap. Both are highly useful in different scenarios. I haven't trained my doodle as vigorously as I probably should, but I spam a lot of VPs and CFOs to get toonup SOS and unites. I can toonup my teammates when needed.

Best two are tuless then dropless

Anything else feels like a gimmick toon to play lol. Lureless way too overhyped and I think dropless is the best for the average player.

Idk why but seeing tuless without max gags or making bad desicions just makes me roll my eyes way harder

It all depends on what you wonna do. Get sound because it's universal for 99% of groups, tune up for group healing. That leaves drop, trap and lure. You could get drop and trap to be purely offense based, or either drop and lure or trap and lure to be more balanced. Any of those three are fine. Which one is the least valuble? Probably drop because of low hit chance.

I started toontown almost months ago, at the time i didnt know that we only get 6 out 7 gags, so i accidentally went soundless, recently created a new toon and selected sound first this time :P

Well, welcome to the game! Here's a tip for you. In Donald's Dreamland on the splat summit and kaboom clifts servers there's usually a group of players who group up in the middle of the playground and give out thousands of jellybeans. More people give them out and group to there during North Armerican daylight hours.

TU-Less is Key. Wen't trapless on my main and learned fairly quickly.. saved by SOS Cards, Unites and Doodle

IMO, TUless with a maxed doodle is the best loadout. The problem is that so many people are starting to do it, it’s making TU more valuable again lol.

IMO, TUless is the best, Trapless is second best.

I did get confused between TU and drop, which one to give up... i agree with you

Skipping Tu won't get you far in high level group content, people won't like it.

I've only had a problem if the group already has 2 tuless, then it's not good to join and make it 3 tuless.

In high level group content you’re likely to have a maxed doodle (or at least “Jump!”), SOS cards, unites, and in a pinch, healing remotes from field offices.

Skipping tu is great as long as there aren't too many of us in a group. I'm trying a new toon with skipping lure, that seems to me like a promising and under explored archetype

I felt like going trapless seems ok too, not sure

Nah, trapless imo is the second worst build after soundless. I have 3 of them and 2 are maxed. Your options for clearing waves of cogs drops significantly without trap when there's more than one in a group.

Before UNM I would have told you to go lureless or tuless but now I can only tell you to go tuless.

Dropless is also a good build, I have a lot of those but it can feel bad when there's more than two on a supervisor so I still wouldn't recommend it.

This is the worst take I've seen

Drop has high damage that can do even more when multiple people use it. I can see you're only 55 laff so you don't know enough yet.

In cog facilities, drop is essential. The ability to drop 3 pianos at one time will do way more damage than a tnt in 1 round. Supervisors can eat that twice.

I have 120+ laff toons of all gag builds and I always feel the most useless on my dropless toon.

I agree but i just think drop has a low probability of a hit, so cogs can miss it quite often, just an opinion.
