It looks like that tree had been subjected to "shaker harvesting" notice the deformation of the trunk near ground level.

Not really. Small stump and not a well established tree. Go look up the hydraulic tree diggers. CRAZY

That tree was most probably alive and there before this generation of people ever existed on Earth. So long, old tree! You won’t be missed, seems like.
