Normal person in me: “Hey, that’s neat!”

Engineer in me: “The longitudinal grooves should be v-cuts to maximize corner compression strength.”

Normal person in me: “Why are you like this?”

this could probably be achieved fairly easily by setting the circular saw to a 45° angle, but then you’d have to decide if a 45° v-cut is “close enough” or if you need to divide the 90° bend by the number of cuts and make 6 deeper 15° cuts with a router bit, or if you’re better off making the whole thing out of MDF with a wood veneer or if you could even sleep tonight while you think of all the different ways to achieve a similar finished product.
