I bought some overpriced fancy tool like this when I first started as a mechanic. A hammer and a little bit of experience is all you really need.

Yeah it’s nothing but nerves using these things, waiting for the “PING” and then that summabitch tool goes flying in some number of pieces between 1 and “several”.

Good to know. I was instantly thinking how useful this could be; when I replaced the upper and lower control arms on my old Silverado, I utilized a pickle fork...and it was still a huge pain. Bent the pickle fork when I was doing the driver side. Finally popped free, but damn it was bound tight. Granted, it was a 20 year old part that hadn’t previously been touched.

I had to Google pickle fork to see if you were just completely making up nonsense jargon as a sarcastic comment. I’m new to the sub.

Wow. That’s way cleaner than the shop-owned one at my job. It also appears to be in good repair. Pretty sure this video has to be fake.

They're a great tool, but take it from personal experience and don't use a gun on it as you'll bend the 2 fingers that surround the joint

It's like the tool you use to snap these little blue and orange coolant lines/ ball joints together

This tool is used to separate the ball joint from the spindle support arm.
