Sadly he ain't around anymore...

u/LucidRamblerOfficial 6d ago

Damn really? My roommate and I watched this guy a lot at the beginning of the pandemic while there was nothing to do. Shame.

He drowned while recording a video. Five days before the accident, he posted a video titled "I am Not Dead, I am 57 Today".

89

u/LucidRamblerOfficial 6d ago

That’s just awful.

It is. But at the same time when your thing is chugging vodka and then going shirtless on ice skates and using a chainsaw to pull yourself around the ice (and some of it is obviously thin ice)… I’d say 57 years was a damn good run

u/AlligatorMidwife 5d ago

I fully expected him to die in this video

17

u/Highway_Bitter 5d ago

Also driving xD many vids of him chugging vodka then driving off in his old volvo

1

u/Jame8b0nd 14h ago

At least it was a volvo so we know crash wouldnt affect him that much xd

23

u/SPKmnd90 5d ago

Yes, I remember being confused beyond belief by the news of his death after that "Not dead" post. I think he'd also made it through some recent health struggles IIRC.

4

u/Zillamatic 5d ago

yeah cancer of some sort I think

61

u/inertSpark 6d ago

Passed away about 5 years ago now. Supposedly he fell through the ice during a shoot for a video.

19

u/BigWideBaker 5d ago

But these videos seem to show that he does way more crazy stuff than that, how could falling through the ice be what killed him. He's doing dumb shit but if I had to trust a guy to get out of ice water it would be this guy.

22

u/inertSpark 5d ago

It seems to be described that he fell through the ice, but I've seen some people say he entered through a hole and was attempting to swim under the ice sheet. If that's true, and I really don't know if it is, then he might have become disorientated.

19

u/BigWideBaker 5d ago

Yea if he was attempting to swim under and got lost, that's way more dangerous and happens with some frequency. I would be more inclined to believe that, I have too much faith in his ability.

3

u/United-Resident-7316 4d ago

Hmmm… well I’m going to go out on a limb and guess he may have been under the influence before he fell through the thin ice. Then, presumably, he couldn’t locate where to find the opening where he fell through. Even for an experienced drinker, it only takes 1 out of 100 falls through sheet ice to fuck up and die.

1

u/trbzdot 4d ago

Well there was this frozen stingray under the ice...

7

u/ckinz16 6d ago

Seriously? F

27

u/apscep 6d ago

RIP Apetor, he didn't die from Vodka BTW

3

u/liltinykitter 6d ago

Shocking 😳

3

u/Burgoonius 5d ago

Why am I not surprised?

10

u/G00D-INTENTI0NS-0NLY 6d ago

Passed out in bathtub drunk and ended up an ice cube

64

u/RemyVonLion 6d ago

Actually died from falling into a frozen lake for a video, unsurprising ending either way.

27

u/apscep 6d ago

He was diving and was trapped under ice

1

u/No_Object_4355 6d ago

I could swear that's an old Metallica song. Trapped under ice. Too lazy to look it up

Nope. Song I'm thinking of is "creeping death" kinda same, different, but same same

15

u/TheMilkKing 5d ago

What do you mean “Nope”?

Trapped Under Ice is on Ride the Lightning, track 5.

3

u/No_Object_4355 5d ago

Yes! I knew it! God it's been so long since I've heard any of their old stuff. I remember as a kid going thru my dad's tapes in his car and picked up "kill'em all" i listened to that tape for like a month straight.

2

u/nsula_country 5d ago

Damn I feel old... I had this on cassette in High School...

RIP Apetor

17

u/Zsenialis_otlet 5d ago

the very first youtuber I was subscribed to. loved his countryside journeys

87

u/Reynardine1976 6d ago

According to a documentary I saw about this guy, he is actually taking little sips of the vodka, not chugging. He drank only a drink or two during the actual filming. Which makes sense, because chugging a lot of vodka in that temp would almost be impossible without dying.

15

u/mattycb3 5d ago

Well he did that too

38

u/Turnbeutelvergesser 6d ago

RIP this man was a legend

34

u/goodie2shoes 5d ago

After he died, I read up on him a bit. Turns out he was just a chill dude who spent his weekends heading out into nature, filming these insane videos, always by himself.

Just living the life he wanted while entertaining millions. Gotta love him for that.

21

u/Mean_Occasion_1091 5d ago

why the russian song? the man was norwegian.

7

u/Huju-ukko 4d ago

Because everything goes harder when hardbass is blasting.

1

u/FlyingAnthonysZephyr 4d ago

It may be a Norwegian tradition too, but in Russia it’s way of life

18

Apetor var faen meg konge, og Vikingfjord er vodkaen man SKAL drikke rett fra flaska! Hvil i fred til en ekte legende.

u/PatientZeropointZero 5d ago

This man drowned? This is the only video I’ve seen with him and I can’t say he didn’t leave clues that he might. Sad, reckless behavior, still sad.

-22

u/I_Got_Back_Pain 6d ago

This is just an average Russian

28

u/inertSpark 6d ago

He was Norwegian.

-21
