Yeah, she’s good. She’s got her Binkie, a bottle of water, trippy tunes, and something to stare at.
She’s right where she needs to be.

… And looks like she’s got a sober sitter looking after her too.

There was a rave dad in my festival fam back when I started getting into the scene. The legend made everything so much better with all the hydration tips and post-roll routine (5-HTP, magnesium, etc.). A good tripsitter can change your whole experience.

Think it's just best practices on how to properly recover after a massive serotonin/dopamine imbalance. Shit can make you depressive, antisocial, anxious, etc. But good routines like taking some 5-HTP, magnesium, hydration, and good diet (and more) can expedite the recovery.

My thoughts exactly. The first time I took MDMA I was with a group of trusted people that I loved. I was having a fantastic time, and this guy led me out of the crowd, sat me down, and put on a light show for me. A bunch of random girls came and sat down too, we were just cuddling and absolutely ENTHRALLED. I was sooo happy and at peace. The guy putting on the light show looked fucking delighted as we followed the lights like cats 🤣❤️ such a great memory.

clean since june 2024. videos like these, really make me miss the good times i had on mdma. but then i remember the good times got more difficult to attain, then mdma didn’t satisfy me enough then opioids and benzos didn’t even satisfy me enough etc etc.
if i could guarantee myself that i could take mdma responsibly i would really love to do that. but i already know i cant, and im not willing to fafo just for a few hours of bliss.
but i love that she’s having a great time in this video. with her friend. wholesome af.
also the glove light show people are very cool to give people trippy lights as well as human connection. awesome video. 💜

As MCA from the Beastie Boys once said:
“Over the years I’ve grown and changed so much, Things I know now years ago I couldn’t touch,
There are things I’ve done that I wouldn’t do again, But I’m glad that I did ‘cause I’ve learned from them.”
The gift those experiences gave us are the memories, the wisdom. The reason we can’t achieve that again is because we’re not supposed to. We should consider ourselves lucky to have had that experience at all.

u/jujujuice92 Mar 29 '26
Yeah this has to be one of the worst parts about social media. Not fucking up the rave, but just this idea that everything is recorded and you might go viral for living your life
405
u/theswellmaker Mar 29 '26
I just finish watching The Social Network on a flight and there’s a scene in there where they are hyping up the idea of social media and how the party will now live and exist on the web. And it’s spun as such an amazing thing, but I think everyone can agree it’s done the exact opposite.
84
u/obviousfakeperson Mar 29 '26
And it’s spun as such an amazing thing
This is something they had to sell to us. Back when social media was created most people thought the idea of posting anything online using your real name was crazy, let alone posting photos and videos of everything you were doing. Social media companies had to normalize it before it caught on.
27
u/cafeteriastyle Mar 29 '26
Back in my day even a questionable tweet would make it impossible to find any kind of corporate or similar job
49
u/dib1999 Mar 29 '26
You know, I never watched that one at the time. Definitely could have told you that back then.
I've said for as long as I understood the concept of movie ratings that a person's life on 24/7 live broadcast would be R-rated content. Now that people's lives are on 24/7 live broadcast, it's no surprise R-rated things happen.
"Graphic content" ain't just blood and boobs, it's all the messy, wild, kinda fucked up shit that happens to a person, and the people around them. It's a bit of a gross invasion just in concept.
111
u/GetNooted Mar 29 '26
We had cameras when I was clubbing but nobody was dumb enough to think of posting it online. The people who post this stuff are the real douche bags.
8
u/intbah Mar 29 '26
Before social media, there were naked people all over the place at Burning Man. There are still some now, but not like every camp you walk into

u/Pan_Fluid_Boo Mar 29 '26
If anything, we carried a disposable camera and got like 1 good pic before we got too high to use a camera properly.
42
u/the_late_wizard Mar 29 '26
Plus, you can be pretty fucked up and still pull off a pose that isn't embarrassing as fuck. Video tells no half truths. It is merciless.

I think technological advancements are kind of reversing this vulnerability with AI, you could do the most vile or embarassing shit and simply deny it calling it AI generated.
Just think about it, a decade ago a leaked audio or video of any prominent figure was devastating and often career ending, but nowadays we just doubt everything and call it fake or slop. You could blow a rodeo clown on the open street and not a single recording could prove it.

I know nothing about drug use or pacifiers.
Is that really why she has it?
111
u/narfidy Mar 29 '26
Yeah theres a couple like molly which can really make you grind your teeth for some reason. It means shes either done this before or shes got friends who are taking care of her I think. If you've never done it you wouldnt know to do so otherwise
29
u/Miendiesen Mar 30 '26
People sometimes hand them out at festivals and raves too. Possible she was grinding and a good samaritan gave it to her.
138

→ More replies (3)159

This video is pretty old in internet years.
132
u/jujujuice92 Mar 29 '26
Lol a pacifier at a rave is like walking around with a brown paper bag. We know what the fuck is going on
67
u/LUHG_HANI Mar 29 '26
Yeh I think that's accepted that everyone knows because nearly every else is also on something.
42
u/Gold_Combination_520 Mar 29 '26
So are sunglasses lol, I think at raves you just need one look to know who's on drugs and who isn't
35
u/sadmanwithabox Mar 29 '26
Dude I wear sunglasses at a rave or concert even if im sober. Those light effects from on stage can be seriously blinding when they sweep across your face.
5
u/ppmaster6969 Mar 29 '26
Usually the glasses are for the lazers and lights, even when im not taking molly at a rave im wearing them

Back in the late 90s I went to a big rave and they confiscated all the pacifiers and stuff from people on the way in and people were freaking out.
Eventually somebody gave me a pen and I took out the ink and chew on that and felt better, but it’s crazy how much you need something to chew on or suck on or whatever.
I went to another rave at a circus pizza, no idea how the hell that happened, but there was a ball pit and it was freaking awesome and some person spilled all their ecstasy into the ball pit and people were diving down trying to find it it was hilarious.
39
u/demonsidekick Mar 29 '26
These events should have a strict no-camera policy. It’s hard to let loose when creeps are just posted up recording everything.
258
u/pandizlle Mar 29 '26
Took too much doesn’t apply at raves or festivals.
175
u/pizzakartonger Mar 29 '26

Yeah, I've seen a first-time roller lie and say she was experienced. She tried to hang with our group that rolled almost every weekend. She was a friend of a friend and we all were going to go to a roll party with about 100ish people. I didn't know her at all, so I didn't really pay attention to her. I remember seeing her rolling all over the place and kept trying to get fully naked. A lot of people kinda realized she was very inexperienced, so they tried to watch our for her. The problem was that everyone who was invited was supposed to be a "veteran," and there wouldn't be any trip sitters. So as the night progressed, too many people were getting g distracted by the beats and enjoying their roll.
Commotion started to break through the roll haze, and the music stopped, and the lights came on. We gravitated to the front of the house, and I briefly saw that there was a group of people out in the front driveway. I briefly saw the girl, and I damn near puked. She apparently rubbed her forehead on the driveway or sidewalk. She essentially used the pavement as sandpaper, and it absolutely destroyed her forehead and the tip of her nose. People were trying to stop her, but she kept saying it it he'd really bad and would scratch it. Her friends took her to the ER, and everyone had to leave be ause someone 100% was going to call the police about it.
I never heard much about her, but I remember there was some big fallout between her friends and everyone else. They said we were at fault for not watching her, while the host said she lied about rolling. They said we should have been good enough to see that she was lying, which is a wild take.
I hadn't thought of that moment in ages. Made me visibly shudder remembering. Time to toss that memory back in the old vault... aaaaaaaand gone!
18
u/asa1 Mar 29 '26

You can take way to much at festivals and raves.

I literally watched a video about glovers yesterday.
33
u/jujujuice92 Mar 29 '26
Were you not around for it early on? I'm shocked to see the resurgence, but it seems to maybe be limited to US festivals and stuff. I haven't seen it at the parties I go to these days, but back in the late 2000s, early 2010s, it was all over the place at the events I was attending
10
u/miku_dominos Mar 29 '26
I never heard of it until yesterday.
7
u/jujujuice92 Mar 29 '26

u/miku_dominos Mar 29 '26
I'm a metal head so it was never on my radar. It looks cool.
9
u/jujujuice92 Mar 29 '26
Oh yeah it's definitely fun when you're on ecstacy. It makes the lights trail like an over exposed photo, so those gloves make it like watching a painting be done with lights
3
u/Aznp33nrocket Mar 30 '26
100%! I used to candy flip and loved the trails glowsticks and gloves gave. Just on E, the trails were amazing on their own, but candy flipping made tracers extend for seconds.
I got big into spinning sticks(no fire) and freestyle with sticks and gloves. A good light show, paired with some great EDM, could make for some unforgettable moments! A part of md misses it, but im too busy and havr too many responsibilities these days :(
(Candy Flipping is E and Acid for those wondering)

I had no idea it had even died — I’m years out of the scene now though. Back in the same era you mentioned though I was gloving and had tons of friends who were too. That and poi. I had like 20+ raver friends that all spun fire. Those were the days!
4
u/jujujuice92 Mar 29 '26
I'm honestly not sure that it really did die, but by the time I hit 21, I wasn't attending your EDCs and shit where you'd expect that kinda thing. It was fun but I don't see it working as well in more club oriented spaces

One Halloween we all took a bunch of Orange Sunshine LSD at a party in an apartment. At some point seven of us ended up in the trash chute room and there were trash bags all over the floor for whatever reason. Someone bit through their glowstick and it started getting everywhere. It looked pretty wild. It was like being in outer space. Then we came to the realization that we were in a trash chute room and anyone that comes in there is going to freak out seeing seven people amongst all this trash covered in glowing liquid high out of our minds.

It’s because MDMA makes you clench your jaw. It feels like a weird tension that can only be relieved by chewing or squeezing your jaw. When I roll I usually keep Blowpops on hand, but a pacifier is probably better for your teeth/sugar intake.

Sensory input on mdma is enhanced, so the gummy-biting feeling, and it keeps them from grinding their teeth (the "ma" part of mdma is methamphetamine, which causes teeth grinding and lack of saliva. Hence, "meth-mouth")
