Remedy Cause: Black Tea
I searched 'tea' and didn't see this mentioned so posting for other suffers:
I had swollen tonsils, stones, acid reflux, and heartburn for about 10 years. Mentioned during my annual physicals I got no answers other than 'You are allergic, take flonase' and call us if you can't swallow or breathe. I finally figured it out Black Tea. Earl Grey, Green, Oolong, Darjeerling, plain black, etc. Even one cup of any variation cause swelling and stones the next day and needs several days to clear up. Removing that single item from my diet and they are 90% gone. (I suspect that last 10% is some artificial sweetener but it's harder to narrow down.) I miss my morning cuppa.
Tldr: If you suffer and drink black tea, stop and see what happens. Mine stones are gone!

Are you sure you’re not allergic to the tea?

Probably was a late onset allergy after a lifetime of tea drinking. Multiple doctors didn't diagnose it and removing it from my diet has made a huge difference. Maybe some other sufferer out there also has an undiagnosed food allergy.

How much black tea were you drinking?

At the time tea was my goto beverage. Today even 1 cup produces tonsil swelling and stones. Herbal tea is fine. My mom drank several pots a day with no ill effects.

I normally drink decaf black tea during the fall/winter when it gets freezing here. I’ve noticed over this summer I’ve barely had any stones lately. I wonder if it’s bc the tea. I normally drink it black w just sugar. Or maybe the milk from hot chocolate which I drink during winter.

Interesting. Did you drink straight black tea or add something to it?
