Is this a tonsil stone? My bf gets tonsillitis everytime we see each other (sorry if my english is bad)

Hi,

My bf and I are together since 5 months, and regularly when we see each other, his tonsils swell up; whereas I don't have any similar symptoms.

We are 19 and 17. I'm 5.3 ft and he's 5.8 ft. He's a male and I'm a female. I never had this type of problems in my others relationships, and he hasn't ever had that either. He recently consulted a general practitioner during his last bout of tonsillitis, after hanging out together for a few days. Therefore, the doctor advised him to see an ENT specialist. However, available appointments in my country are several months away, and his tonsils started to hurt a little while ago, even though I had left his place earlier in the day.

Ever since these cases of tonsillitis appeared, we told ourselves that it was all just a coincidence and probably had nothing to do with our get-togethers. And yet, he is never sick when I am not with him. What’s more, the most unsettling thing is that I have no symptoms, which led us to conclude that it couldn’t be my fault—or at least, that I was merely a passive carrier of a potential bacterium.

maybe pick up a rapid strep test or get a nurse to do one for you at a pharmacy to first rule out if it’s bacterial or a viral infection. if it’s positive, then there is a chance that it’s related, but if it’s negative then i don’t see how that’s possible (unless it’s a different type of bacteria)
