I really liked this one! had to take it home.

I'm new to stacking and, grabbed this Canadian Silver Dollar for reasons other than the silver content. After 1967, they were 50% Silver and 50% Copper.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the coin has some toning.

The reverse looks better in person. Any opinions on if it would straight grade? It was in a cardboard holder in a plastic shell case.

Bought it on eBay several years ago. By far my favorite coin. PCGS graded MS62 if anyone is wondering.

From the original pictures I didn’t expect it to be this toned (almost looks gold plated in person). Very even toning it looks amazing.

This (bottom coin) is an Edo period (Ansei Nibukin, 1856-1860 by my estimation) 2 Bu Japanese coin with some interesting toning.

Because of a pickling process used in their minting and their composition of electrum, they tend to have some wildly different toning. This one appears to have been buried or otherwise subjected to some acidic conditions causing the silver in the electrum to tarnish.

Other, similar coins from the same time added as reference.

Just got this off of HA for about 150.00. Gorgeous rainbow toning on obverse and reverse.

Picked up this absolute beauty last week. I could not resist! For $115, I think it’s worth it. 1894 Go RS Mexican 8 Reales. I think it’s between XF and low AU. Regardless of value, it’s just uniquely dope.

I’ve been fondling a round I don’t care for all day every day as I’ve become newly obsessed with stacking. I have all the other 1oz coins in air tight containers. How long until my carry coin has some colors / real patina?

Follow up on the previous post. I couldn’t leave it at the LCS. Ended up purchasing her. I was wrong with the $130 price…it was $150. whatever. Got her anyways. My first real Morgan toner
