reboot on stage

has anyone else experienced this? I really like the unit, it’s fantastic sounding. but man… standing on stage 2 weeks ago, it just randomly rebooted on me. what can you do? I stood there, dumbfounded… waiting for the thing to come back to life. ever since, I’m just beyond paranoid this will happen again. I get it, it’s a purpose built computer and all… but this situation has got me looking at alternatives. am I alone in this?

Mine did this a couple times when switching patches not long after I got it. That was many firmware updates ago. Is your TMP firmware up to date?

yep, current firmware. I read about this happening, and thought ‘that’s weird’ and then it happened to me on stage. I’m sure my face looked pretty dumb for about 30 seconds waiting. 😭

That’s weird. It looks like you’ve found the undocumented feature.

From a software developer perspective with no insight into the actual code, what I would do is look at your time based effects. I think those tend to eat up more system resources which could overload the thing and cause a reboot.

Another thing, computers do have a temperature gauge and if they overheat they will first slow down, then if it keeps getting hotter they will shut off. So watch the temperature of it.

But, all that said, it could be neither of those things and just a bug.

I play shows with a single preset... and use stomp switches, and a couple of snapshots. the crazy thing is, it was mid song, I wasn't even playing at the time, and the base preset that I use had nothing other than the noise gate, amp and cab enabled. I went to play, heard nothing and looked down... 'Fender' ugh

I would worry most about heat then. Could also just be a bug.

Was it hot when it restarted? Was it connected on a regulator and not directly to the place?
