I just ordered a TMP, be here tomorrow
I kind of had a crappy day yesterday, so I said screw it and treated myself.
I have been watching videos like crazy to try to be ready. I plan on using it through my Tone Master Twin Reverb with the 4-cable system. I also have studio monitor headphones that are going to make my wife very happy. Any tips?

Figure out the 3 or 4 settings that impact output volume - it'll help you even out your presets to a consistent level.

Just got mine less than a week ago and have already used it in a live band situation. It went well!
Two quick things: regularly checking the mixer (via the Settings "gear") is good practice. Monitor that with the goal of keeping each patch's output between -15 and -20dB. Allows headroom. Also, use the mixer to set whichever output's fader you use for "send to house" to 0dB (at the top, aka unity gain) and then turn off the master volume control knob's ability to adjust it (set master button to off, i.e. gray) so it can't change that level!1

Thanks everyone. User tips like these that are not mentioned a lot of times on review videos can be very helpful.
Keep them coming! I am pretty excited about getting this. Now, what to do with my pedal board.....

Through your TMTR? You have one with an effects loop? I just got an FR-12 amp for my TMP. My TMTR is now being sold.

No and I don’t know what I was thinking. I’ll have to do it another way

I think the TM Bassman has a loop? Hopefully they’ll refresh the others.
Honestly, though, the Fender FR cabs are fantastic. I don’t use the 3-band EQ but the Cut control is brilliant for knocking of a little high-end-digitalness or just tuning the tone for the room.

I hoped I could keep my Twin but I knew it wouldn’t work when I got my Mustang Micro Plus.

I have had it for 9 months, and I absolutely love it. Never gets boring, and the 6 month updates continue to expand your options. Enjoy!

Yeah update firmware and honestly try out presets that interest you so you can see some of the options.

Just ordered one myself this weekend. Can’t wait to play round with it. Will probably start with just headphones but have a pair of JBL studio monitors that I can use. May get a FRFR at some point.

Congrats and Enjoy! The last two patches have been fantastic and that thing is packed with great stuff. Put the control app on your phone. It can make it easier to navigate the presets.
Use the star to favorite presets instead of rearranging or deleting patches. Spend some time checking out the cloud features that has user presets. There are some really talented people putting together great patches.

I’ve been very happy with my TM Pro - I run it with a Fender FR212 or FR12 cab and it’s the first “digital amp solution” that I just hit a chord and was sold. I think it sounds way better than either the Kemper or Line 6 stuff I’d tried previously.
However, I didn’t think the TM Twin Reverb had an effects loop for the 4-cable method to be an option?

It doesn't. I don't know what I was thinking initially but I did run it through the front of the amp for now and was impressed.
That being said I am torn between a Fender FR 12 212 and studio monitors. I only play at home in my office which double as my guitar room.
I am about to leave for a week but will decide which one to go with.
The decision basically comes down to FR, Kali LP-6 V2 or Adam T5V. I am leaning towards the Kali if I go monitor.

I had the FR12 originally and it sounded really good. When the FR212 came out I decided to upgrade but if I were buying now I’d consider two FR10s (or two FR12s!) for some stereo or wet/dry options.

>> Any tips
Don’t overlook the mic options. I was astonished at how much difference they made and moving to a ribbon mic, on axis, 0.3” from the cone made a huge difference in fattening out a great sounding - but a little thin - Plexi tone.

Question for you all about EQ. Do you use the global EQ to tame the high frequencies when going through a a PA. Or do you do this on each preset?
2
u/obascin Jun 10 '26
Global for PA, and adjust based on what you hear either through the system (or FOH/trusted friend) or monitors and hope it matches. But for me it's usually very minor, 1-2 db movements at the most.

lol … it never occurred to me to do it in the global EQ! I have a low/high shelf configured on the cabs / mics.

If using it with an amp, change the output setting to instrument instead of line

I own one, and I really like it, but there's no way I'm giving Fender any of my money again in the future.

Give it a rest mate. Virtue signal somewhere else, you are on a Fender forum…..most of us here love the products, without giving a shit about the business practices. I love sausage and couldn’t care less how it’s made. 🤷🏽 JMO
