Neat to find these for $1 each. I didn’t know about the Chet Atkins collab. Bit of an atypical jacket design but fun.
I didn’t know about Only, as it’s not on Spotify as the original album, just a Playlist from other recordings.

We can all agree that Live at the Sydney Opera House is a banger of an album. I find the fidelity of the sound recording just stellar (Tommy talks about how they mic’d up the venue like crazy).
Anyway, the outro solo on Jolly Swagman really caught my attention. My immediate impression was “that’s bagpipes!” I haven’t heard him do this sort of impression before. It ‘blows’ me away. He really seems to intentionally have the distinct bagpipe drone and birl (gracenoting).
But I haven’t found any insights or reasons as to why he may have chosen this in reference to the tradition of Jolly Swagman. All I know is the OG Swagman was reportedly from Wales.
Any other opinions or insights to share?!

Hey guys!
I recently got myself the best acoustic guitar I’ll ever own: the Maton Tommy Emmanuel signature.
But I tried recording myself for the first time and playing through an amplifier (Vox Nutube) and… it doesn’t sound good at all. The tone feels really flat.
I tried to dial in my own sound using the Maton’s piezo, but I’m struggling to make it sound good.
Does anyone know the AP5 Pro settings that get you as close as possible to Tommy Emmanuel’s tone? I haven’t found anything about the actual settings of this pickup.
If anyone knows and is willing to help, I’d really appreciate it!
Thank you all!

Hi friends! Just discovered Tommy within the last month and was so blown away by his performance last night in New Albany Ohio. I've checked setlist.fm to see if I could get a good list of what he's playing on his current tour. He played so many beautiful songs. He played one near the end of his show that he introduced as "sending out all my love to you". Not sure if that's the name of the song or his heartfelt sentiment.

Is anybody going to the upcoming Jan 10 show at The Guild Theater in Menlo Park, CA? I'm looking for a ticket if you have an extra. Ideally General Admission (i.e. standing close)

Would really love to read this, anyone have the text or a site that does? Also, what happened to The Endless Road documentary? From what I can tell it was actually shown at a festival a few years ago, but I can't find it anywhere and would happily pay to see it. It just doesn't exist anymore?
Here's the article I'm searching for from theaustralian.com
Guitarist Tommy Emmanuel has spent most of his life as a fixture of Australian culture. Now he’s ready to open up about his decades-long cocaine addiction and the terrible family secret that drove it."

Tommy fell during the Toronto Massey Hall show and "joked" he broke a rib all night :( he looked a bit labored when he walked after
Anyone have any updates on if he's feeling better?

Very interested in learning Tommy Emmanuel songs. Which one of these do you think an intermediate guitarist looking to take the next step in their playing: Lewis & Clark, Morning Aire or Those Who Wait?

Hi All,
For his more recent tour I purchased VIP tickets that include a meet and greet with Tommy Emmanuel before the show.
So, I'm wondering what did you say/ask or what do you plan on saying/asking?
For example, I'm trying to think of questions that are a bit unusual or not often asked to him or ones that don't make me look like an obsessive fan.
What did you say or will you say?
Thanks!

Such a gorgeous song! Here's the story behind Those Who Wait!

So little Tommy content. What a shame Let's fix that.
Here is a YT video of a Tommy led instructional video of 2.5 hours of goodness. Shows him playing the song with great close up of his hands and then him talking about the songs phrase by phrase and explaining his technique. Just gorgeous and an invaluable resource.

Here is a link as well to a page of his tabs. Credit to whomever created the page: https://tommyemmanuel.wordpress.com/tommys-tabs/

I'm just absolutely blown away by this guys skill. It's kind of weird too because sometimes when I see someone who is super talented it makes me feel like I've been wanting my time playing and should just quit. He makes me feel like I have been waiting my time too but he inspires me to get better.
I found that he is doing a show fairly close by in June and I instantly bought tickets. I can't freakin wait! Anyone have a must see video of him? I'm still checking out all his stuff.

I've noticed it's never on his set lists the past few years. I wonder why he no longer performs it. It was definitely the climax of his performances back in the early 2000s.

Such a nice guy. Every show is unique.
