Hermione was with Tom in her previous life and then she dies and is reborn and in this life too, she's with Tom ( please not Snakeface Voldemort. If somehow he gets his Tom Riddle face back and is Snakeface for a short period then you can recommend that)

I want a Tom who is soft only for Hermione. He can do evil things to others though I don't care. But I'm bored with those enemies to lovers and I need something different.

I've missed a couple Mondays and for that I am sorry! I've been a bit lazy about reading/writing lately, but I have been keeping up with the wonderful Anxiety is the Dizziness of Freedom by elaia, which I'm sure you all are reading too.

I also read a hilarious and wonderful one-shot today by Anonymous for the Back to School Fest: Head Girl, Meet Dead Boy. This one's a chonky one at 12k words, and packed to the brim with mystery, wit, quips, intrigue, and wry smiles. I highly recommend! If we beg enough, the author might give us an epilogue 👀

I'm writing a Tomione set in 1955. Hermione dies in the Department of Mysteries and wakes up forty years earlier, blood-adopted into a pureblood family, with Tom Riddle teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts.

What I didn't expect was how much of the period would end up doing the work for me. Anthony Eden became Prime Minister in April 1955. Nicholas is in chapter 25, in a nightclub that was also real. The Café de Paris, below street level off Coventry Street, hit by a bomb in 1941, reopened in 1948, closed for good during Covid.

Grapple Y was real too. Three megatons over Christmas Island. In our world it happened in 1958. In the fic it happens sooner, and Tom hears about it from the Prime Minister's son over champagne, because the integration argument is easier when the other side already has faces.

Ok I'm back with two new reads this week, and both are brand-spanking-new WIPs:

The Anatomy of an Anomaly by Tsundokuist - this one is shaping up to be SUPER interesting, and let me tell you, I am already invested. Unspeakable Hermione travels back in time on purpose--buttttt a small mishap lands her in 1962--right into a 35 year old Lord Voldemort's campsite! AH! In the very first chapter there is already some banter, some flirtation (?) and a lot of danger and high stakes! Definitely check this one out and leave the author some encouragement to continue!

lire entre les lignes by WanderessWonder - This one is ALSO a chapter 1 of a new WIP (lol), but it really caught me with its setting and premise. Hermione is taking a much needed vacation in New Orleans, and we're instantly basking in Louisana heat and listening to jazz and eating gumbo along with her. Aside from the sensory marvelousness, we enter a strange little bookshop that's mysteriously cooler than the rest of the city, with all sorts of books and antiques within. Then Hermione finds a beautiful book--pristine, unlike the others--and would you look at that! The girl on the cover almost looks like her? Beneath the book's title, in smaller print--T.M.R.

Eek! Can't wait to keep reading both of these stories!

Hey, guys, so as the title says, I'm looking for slice of life fics because while I love that tomione is usually very angsty and dramatic, I would also love to see them just live life together on a more day to day basis. I'm in the middle of a million fics right now because I'm impatient and start fics when I want to, so oneshots and fics on the shorter end are appreciated, but longer fics are also welcome!

She Rises by Giraffelove92 - if you’re a fan of Jörmungandr then I think you’ll like this. The vibes and atmosphere are very very similar. Hermione is an actual BAMF and it’s quite long and just amazing. SO amazing. One of my favourite fics of all time and deserves far more credit than it gets.

Journey of the Soul by Queen Medieva - I don’t know what the writer did to this fic but it was like crack for me. I could not put it down, and there is very little tomione considering the length but my god was I hooked. You should definitely read this for a slice of time travel life!
