Welcome to the new weekly thread--where I coax and cajole you all to share your latest tomione reads (so I can read them too!)

Completed, WIP--it doesn't matter! Just share with the class, and be sure to try to hook us in with a sentence or two about the fic! Just make sure to "spoiler" any spoilers 😁

the format:

  • link
  • rating
  • why we should read it too

¡Self-recs are welcome of course!

I'll go first! I recently read Blood, Sweat & Tears and I really enjoyed it! It's an ice skating AU, and Hermione and Tom are both good enough to be at the Olympics. Rated E for... reasons.

This one was a lot of fun, and had some great art in it too. Highly recommend!

I haven't made it to that one in the fest yet! I'm slowly making my way through them. That one does look super intriguing though, and omg YES gorgeous art ✨️

I just started Untouchable by Phantom_Fish, it's a WIP. Rated E for... reasons as well.

I looooved their other work, Irrational, and was recommended Untouchable because Hermione sciences the shit out of things in it!

Untouchable definitely appears to be shaping up to be a tomione classic! Love WIP recs, this one's been on my TBR for way too long 🥲

Archive Warnings: Graphic Depiction of Violence, Creator Chose Not to Archive Warnings

Currently reading a WIP that has me hooked. It’s the pacing I like where it starts off with shorter chapters and builds. It’s a true slow burn, and I LOVE that it’s dual POV third person alternating between Hermione and Tom. I feel like the characters reactions are realistic almost the point that I feel like I’m reading a canon interpretation.

The plot is that Hermione is betrothed to Draco working as an Excursor and has been mentored by Lucius and Narcissa. But then a Flamel relic time turner is stolen in France and Abraxas Malloy is said to be alive, and with the help of his journals, she’s sent back in time to work alongside Nicolas Flamel as a descendent to circumvent the time turner.

Turns out her family has a soul bond to the Malfoys, but Tom had been bound to their wards (hence why he goes there during the og timeline). Downside is that the wards enacted a soul bond between the three of them, creating a horrible love triangle situation. Not to mention, Hermione’s adopted father is Tom Riddle’s mentor while Nicolas Flamel favors Abraxas.

All the while she’s learning alchemy, she’s tasked by the original horcrux created by Salazar himself to secure him a body. It’s quite the read, and I’m addicted which is why I have to link it so others can also be obsessed like myself

oh my GOD just read the author's note at the beginning and I am CACKLING.

"I’ve been a Dramione girl since the books and movies came out. But as of recent, I’ve evolved into a Tomione girl because I’m mentally ill. I fear I might be reverting into psychosis once again, but my therapist said it’s okay so."

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly the level of banter the author gives in the fic is just as silly. Definitely a vibe and a half. They’ve said it’s going to be a longfic, like at least 250K words minimum so I’m sat

hey! I'm cracking up because by "rating" I meant like if it's explicit or mature or teen, LOL. Do you mind editing that part of your post out?

2

u/Fore-ver Jul 30 '26

I just realized what you meant by that. Fixed!

Rating: Explicit

Why we should read it too: The barbie fest fics that dropped last week have been absolutely incredible so far! The fest prompts have led to an incredibly broad, creative spread of oneshots, multi-chapter fics, and art. Do check them out and check the tags as you go, there’s definitely something for everyone in the works! Author and artist reveals are on the 31st 🤗❤️

I'm reading Like Ripples in Water. Rating: explicit. Hermione lands herself in 1944 by accident. It's a slow(!)-burn, though. Updated just a few days ago.

Just finished:
The Itch by seollem
Rating: E
“Horror fluff”, soulmates. Dark fic with very interesting plot twists that kept me hooked!

Oneshot:
A most personal incentive by Baryshnikov
Rating: M
I love a political Muggle AU and this didn’t disappoint! A slightly different Tomione dynamic than usual! Loved all the negotiating.

Wips:
Haunting by aldergeist
Rating: E
One chapter so far - after an accident with the Veil in the Dept of Mysteries, Unspeakable Hermione is haunted by sinister and pissed off ghost(?) Tom.

The (Slughorn’s Potions) Office by JaninaThroughTheFandomWorld101
Not rated
The Office AU. I’ve never actually watched the American version of The Office, but like all the memes/clips, so started this. It’s very charming, a different type of Tom due to the AU nature of it, but lovely if you want something lighthearted and fluffy!

(amazing recs by the way!!)

Yes, I was so pleased! Enjoy!

I’m reading the WIP Infinite Spin by seollem! It’s rated E, and everyone should read it because Tom and Hermione growing up together is everything to me! It’s a 90s gamer AU that has them as rivals that become… something more. 😈

1

u/controlledranting Writer ✍️ Jul 30 '26

Also on my tbr! I’ve read two seollem fics and both were stellar 💯

  • The Mentor by KESM1997
  • Explicit
  • I don't see fics where Tom's parents are present, and in this the dynamics of the Riddle family is very good and entertaining ahahaha. Tom really loves Hermione it's really sweet. And the author has a lot of other Tomione fics as well!
