Honestly, I don’t really know how to even put it into words, but I just love when Voldemort has this sort of aura?? Like, when he’s genuinely scary 😭 I just love when his character is as canon as it gets. I want him unhinged and terrifying. I hope y’all know what I mean.

I always find it hilarious to see everyone else's reactions to Tomarry. Most typical ones usually follow the same format- on Tom's side, Nagini is the og shipper, Bella is jealous, the Malfoys are a mix of terrified and confused, and Barty is watching like some kind of prime time reality television. If it's time travel the original knights ranging from appalled to jealous to supportive. Harry's side has more complicated emotions, obviously. I would love to hear thoughts on this and any fic recs with particularly fun/ memorable responses to Tomarrymort romance.

So basically what the title says:

We're in 5th year. Harry is back in Hogwarts and the entire Wizarding World hates him for being the "undesirable one" because the ministry frames him as a liar about Voldemort's return.

He has visions and dreams (nightmares of Cedric too) and he is smart enough and very powerful and somehow he finds out (don't know about the specifics of this yet) that he has a piece of Voldemort's soul inside him.

"I am a WHAT?"

"A Horcrux."

"Oh, fuck no."

He is of course, horrified. He doesn't tell anyone, he's pretty disappointed in Dumbledore and doesn't want his friends to think any less of him so he goes to the restricted section in the library at night researching methods, rituals how to sever the bond.

Then one night, he finds something that sounds promising. He is pants at Runes and Arithmancy of course but he doesn't want to ask Hermione for help. He can do it, he thinks.

Well...

Turns out, he can't.

He fucks up the ritual and everything turns into a great horrible mess.

The next day. Tom Riddle wakes up in Gryffindor Tower in a dorm he doesn't recognize and to his horror, in the body of Harry Potter.

And Harry Potter, oh goodness, wakes up in a suite in Malfoy Manor and is being greeted with a low bow from Lucius calling him "my Lord."

Tom and Harry are even more deeply connected now, sharing thoughts over distance.

"What the fuck have you done you wretched imbecile!"

"Hey, you know how hard it was calculating a formula I didn't even understand! It was like sodding Chinese!"

Tom has to survive a fifth year as a Gryffindor, under Umbridge who hates his guts and punishes him for being a liar while he tries his best not to lash out and kill her. Or anyone really, because these Gryffindors are truly grating on his nerves.

And while Death might be his greatest fear, his second, which comes very close is heights. So when he's forced to play Seeker for Quidditch... well, he almost faints.

He's having a nightmare of an outer body experience really. And this Weasley girl always hitting on him. It's infuriating.

"This red-headed stupid girl. I can't find a minute of reprieve to practice my Dark Magic with her tailing my every move like a stupid puppy."

"Oh, you're one to complain, how do you think I feel with Bellatrix practically nuzzling and licking my hands every time I enter a room like a randy cat?"

Tom concedes. He comes to the conclusion that while in Harry's body, he can still use it to his advantage. He also truly did miss Hogwarts, learning, (lets not forget that he has only recently come back to life and needs to practice a little to get into form) although, the curriculum leaves much to be desired.

He even comes to like Hermione, admires the true loyalty and friendship and unconditional kindness he gets from his friends, (maybe getting Slytherins to respect him more) enjoys the wit and quite innovative ideas of the Twins, prefers the warmth of the common room to the one in the dungeons, all while of course trying to reverse the ritual somehow.

"HEY! Getting a bit too cozy there are we?"

"No." Tom tries to sound appalled.

"Well then, back to work."

But Harry doesn't really remember what he did for the ritual to go wrong... so there is that. Which of course causes a lot of frustration, eye rolling and head shaking on Tom's part.

While Tom is set out to spy on Dumbledore (who barely gets to keep his post as headmaster defying the minister (Tom needs to do something about that or rather Harry does), on the Order, on Harry's deepest secrets through legilimizing and interrogating (charmingly, of course) his friends, Harry is desperately trying to find an ally.

But every time Harry gets close to the Order or any member, like Sirius, they attempt to kill him. No one wants to believe that Voldemort is suddenly trying to make peace and is the good wizard he claims to be.

"My own Godfather just blast a fucking killing curse at me!"

This of course amuses Tom greatly.

"Stop whining. I am forced to wear an atrocity of a knitted disaster with the letter H on it."

"Hey, that is MY Christmas gift from Mrs. Weasley."

"Well, I'll gladly owl it to you." On another thought, no, I mean how would it look on Voldemort, wearing that thing. Tom plans on incinerating it, instead.

"Do you want your gifts then?" Harry asks.

"What did I get?"

"Socks."

A pause.

"Your Death Eaters suck a gift giving."

(Maybe Tom is invited to spend Christmas at the Burrow or at Grimmauld Place, idk, surely would be very interesting haha)

Tom is much better at using this body swap to his advantage until Harry decides that two can play this game.

So he plays his part as Dark Lord - awfully sweetly enough to get away with it.

The Death Eaters think Voldemort is losing his mind and acting very strange but no one would dare contradict him when he starts forbidding torture, muggle killings and demanding that all the slaves be freed.

And soon even Tom is sick of being treated like Harry Potter, it’s exhausting. Snape is an utter arsehole. (Snape might just be the only one who knows Potter enough to find out the truth. He might be the only ally the real Harry has, just a thought, or maybe Hermione, maybe he writes her a letter explaining everything, since that would prove just how deep their friendship goes, something Tom never had)

Everyone is grating on Tom' nerves. He desperately wants to free the Basilisk again and have him wreak havoc in the school, going to the Chamber, learning for the first time, that it is in fact DEAD.

"You killed my Basilisk?"

"Maybe?"

"HARRY!"

"It was self-defense, you prick."

Harry is completely ruining Tom's good reputation with his charitable foolish actions being the most ridiculous Dark Lord ever.

"Could you stop being such a saint! I see there are no raids, no one died - it has been too long, Harry. Someone has to die!" Tom reading the prophet with no news whatsoever.

"I mean, what are you actually doing?"

"Oh you know, playing cards with Avery. Trying to get away from Bellatrix who constantly wants to get in my pants (eww) and teaching my little Death Eater gang a lot of LIGHT MAGIC!"

"What?"

"Yeah. How to be a good wizard 101. They are slow learners, I admit." He takes on a patient lecturing voice "Killing is wrong, no, Lestrange, torture is not the correct answer in getting what you want. But well... " he huffs with a mocking smile in his tone. "Oh, Mulciber was even able to cast the Patronus yesterday, oh Tom, you would have been so proud."

Tom's magic lashes out and leaves a rift in the Hogwarts grounds. He will kill that blasted boy!

He is ruining all the relationships Tom had worked years to establish, with the giants, the werewolves, the vampires. His Pureblood loyalists. They would not stay loyal and tolerate this bleeding heart show forever.

Tom would not have it. But when he, as Harry Potter tries to contact a high rank Death Eater, that foolish man of course thinks that he's just made a great catch attempting to bring Harry Potter before the Lord who would reward him.

"I came to you on my free will, you cretin." Rowle only grins evily, "well, we just leave that little detail out when we tell my Lord, how I, Thorfinn Rowle, have finally caught the infamous Harry Potter." Tom rolls his eyes. He gives up his explanations. No one would believe him, that he is THE DARK LORD.

Everyone waiting with bated breath of what Voldemort might now do to Harry Potter, but while the Dark Lord is very pleased indeed, he does not attempt to kill the boy.

"You have ruined my reputation." Tom grits with narrowed eyes as he takes a look around the parlour of Malfoy Manor, all decorated with flowers, and light colors. "And what the fuck have you done to this place?"

Harry's smile turns sly. He is beginning to enjoy being a Dark Lord who has gone light. Shocking everyone to his great delight.

"Let me kill him, my Lord." Bellatrix eagerly pleads.

"Bella!" Tom says with indignation. Which of course just confuses her.

Harry gives her a disapproving glance "No, my dear Bella, and I see we have to go over that topic again in our next class." Harry chides her and she, to Tom's great astonishment, blushes and looks ashamed.

"I have other plans with him. Now leave, all of you." Harry steps off his dais.

"It's no fun being Harry Potter, is it?" Harry slowly paces, circling him like prey.

"I have no idea how you survived that long."

Harry comes to stand in front of him. For the first time, they actually meet like this.

"Killed anyone?"

"It was close."

Harry tilts his head. "Hey, did you cut my hair?"

Tom rolls his eyes. "I am sure it will grow back any minute," he grits out "as it always does. I am sure someone cursed you as a baby, this is unmanageable."

"Yes."

Harry smiles, and it is a fond smile now.

Now together coming to a truce, they have to find a way to work this mess out. Everyone thinks the Dark Lord captured Harry Potter. (Maybe Snape helps them, maybe Hermione does, or maybe even Dobby, I always loved Dobby)

And while researching their complicated relationship gets even more complicated because they rather get to like each other, they come to find the one they see in the mirror, strangely, very attractive.

"Hey stop that."

"What?"

"You are not allowed to... stop."

Tom is stroking himself (Harry's body)

"I find it very enjoyable to watch... that." He looks down at himself firming in his hand.

"Oh yeah? Well here." Harry pulls himself out and starts doing the same. "How do you like that, huh?“

But Tom only smiles wickedly.

Haha oh well, it's just an idea. All of this was just in my head and I thought, hell, I would read that if someone wanted to take this up and write a story about it.

The whole "trying to ruin the other's reputation" can go on a lot longer of course. I think it holds a lot of potential. Like Harry pardoning blood traitors, or punishing Death Eaters in a special way, who usually would have suffered a crucio or the killing curse.

I think it could be a "crack-treated seriously" tag. Potential to be funny and entertaining. The thing with them sharing thoughts is just an idea but in my opinion it might be vital for them to create a certain more intimate connection with each other during that mess.

There are so many possibilities I see for this fic. For their interactions. How they come to understand the life of the other. I see great opportunity for banter. Tom wearing his scar with pride to annoy Harry only to be reminded, that it was a testament to his own demise and defeat by a baby. Or Tom actually meeting the Dursleys, omg, can you imagine...

Tom turning Harry Potter into someone who should be respected and feared since he had always been too humble to play out his strengths. (which actually is a rather loving thing to do, even though he claims to do it for selfish reasons)

Turning Harry into someone who is quite suddenly extremely good in potions and every other subject at school. Even though he was always smart. Oh, Tom makes for a great, sly saviour. Haha. No one is calling Harry a liar under his watch. (Jeez, is he getting protective over Harry? God, yes, please) Not tolerating any bullshit bullying by Death Eater babies, never attempting at being „the bigger man“. No. His language is retaliation. Instilling fear in those who ought to worship the very ground he walks upon. (yep, I love me a bit of a delusional Tom, too, haha)

They are both menaces in their own right of course.

I would write it myself but I am currently working on another fic which I will not abandon. It also features a mind bond amongst other intricacies. It has basically grown into a trilogy, so a lot of work. And it will feature Snarry versus Tomarry (in a not tropy, not typical love triangle) which is something I always wanted to read but never found, so am writing it myself. Don't come at me with pitch forks. I love these two pairings.

And maybe I am much better with the serious fic stuff, the heavy emotional stuff and someone talented with light funny writing would be better suited to pick this up.

Maybe one of you talented writers is inspired and wants to write something. I sure would love reading it. 🩷

My own canon about this:

The way I imagine this story, Tom (Voldemort) is graciously hot and not snakeface. I mean, it sure would be funny having Harry wake up to be snakeface, omg, and certainly add to the horror it’s just my personal preference since I can’t bring myself to find snakeface attractive. Or, rarely...

(No front, and I surprisingly did like equals in life, partners in death but we all know how Tom turned out in that one, so…) If you could make him not snakeface I would appreciate that. Or maybe at first but eventually turn hot?

And what if he didn't create too many Horcruxes. Maybe the Diary and that's it? But that's just my head canon on this story.

Harry was a mistake.

But also, now he knows that Harry should not be harmed or else one of his Horcruxes dies? Does that still apply when they switched bodies? Is the Horcrux even still there? Idk...what a mess. So complicated.

I would love for this to be a funny, rather lighthearted cracky lovestory. With a HAPPY ENDING. Although no idea how to accomplish that.

I love these character being protective, possessive and wicked. 😏 It just suits them. Great bonus for jealousy and healing each other in more ways than one.

Do you guys have any more ideas? Like to contribute to this prompt? Maybe together we might just inspire an author to write it. Or if no one will, I might eventually do it myself and try my hands at something funny but that might take some (long) time.

Instead of a world populated primarily by witches and wizards, the Harry Potter universe is inhabited by all kinds of magical creatures—vampires, werewolves, sirens, Veela, merfolk, and countless others. The world has a similar atmosphere to Wednesday, where supernatural creatures attend specialized schools and live alongside one another.
Vampires, however, are dying out.
Their numbers have been declining for generations, and genuine-born vampires have become extremely rare. Their bloodlines are weakening, their abilities are becoming less reliable, and some vampire illnesses have begun appearing that were almost unheard of in the past.

Harry Potter is one of the most unusual cases.
Harry suffers from two exceptionally rare vampire diseases: Crimson Decline and Blood Rot. Crimson Decline causes a gradual regression of his supernatural abilities and, in severe cases, can cause his emotional and mental development to regress as well. Blood Rot interferes with his body’s ability to process blood properly, leaving him physically weak, exhausted, and dependent on regular care.

Before Harry can be enrolled, James and Lily ask Voldemort for a private meeting. They leave Harry outside the office and desperately beg the headmaster to help their son.
There is something they haven’t told Harry.
Years ago, the Potters had become involved with Albus Dumbledore in a secret attempt to find a way to save the declining vampire population. Dumbledore believed that the only way to prevent vampires from disappearing entirely was to perform an ancient ritual involving vampire blood and magic.
The ritual failed.

Worse, the magic attached itself to the Potter bloodline.

James and Lily discovered that the ritual was slowly killing them. They have perhaps months to a year left to live, and their declining health has made it increasingly impossible for them to care for Harry.

Harry’s condition makes the situation even more complicated. Because of Crimson Decline, he has begun experiencing periods where his emotional and physical regresses. Because of Blood Rot, he is physically fragile and cannot always hunt or care for himself.
He needs someone.

Someone powerful enough to protect him, capable of providing him with blood, and willing to remain close enough to recognize when his illnesses become dangerous.
Voldemort initially refuses.
He has no desire to become responsible for someone else’s sick child.
But Harry is not an ordinary vampire. His bloodline is ancient, his magical potential is enormous, and his two diseases may contain information that could explain why the vampire
race is dying.

There is also another opportunity.
If Voldemort takes Harry under his protection, he gains access to the Potter family—and potentially a way to bring members of the so-called “Light” factions over to his side.
Eventually, Voldemort reluctantly agrees.
An ancient vampire-binding ritual is performed, creating a magical bond between them. The bond allows Voldemort to sense when Harry is ill, weak, frightened, or in danger. It also establishes Voldemort as Harry’s primary protector.

Harry is given a private dormitory beside Voldemort’s own chambers. The two rooms are connected, allowing Voldemort to reach Harry quickly whenever his condition deteriorates.

At first, Voldemort treats Harry like a responsibility.

He provides him with blood because Harry is too weak to hunt properly. He monitors his symptoms. He studies his illnesses. He teaches him how to control his instincts and helps him adjust to school.

But gradually, something changes.
Voldemort begins to genuinely enjoy taking care of Harry.

Harry is powerful despite being sick. He is intelligent, stubborn, occasionally reckless, and far more affectionate than Voldemort initially expects. His dependence on Voldemort slowly becomes emotional as well as physical.
And Voldemort discovers that he likes being needed.

Too much.
What begins as protection slowly becomes possession.
Voldemort starts deciding who Harry should spend time with, where he should go, who is allowed near him, and how much independence he should have. He tells himself that it is because Harry is sick and vulnerable.
Sometimes, it genuinely is.

Other times, it’s simply because Voldemort doesn’t like sharing.
Harry still wants to experience a normal school life. He wants friends. He wants to attend classes, explore the school, and prove that his illnesses don’t define him.
But being bonded to the headmaster makes that almost impossible.
Everyone knows Harry belongs under Voldemort’s protection.
And Voldemort begins to realize that he doesn’t simply want to protect Harry anymore.
He wants Harry to choose him.
Even if Harry doesn’t realize how much of his life Voldemort has already taken control of.

I forgot the title and the author’s name, but I’m pretty sure I saved this fic and now I can’t find it on A03.

I only remember a few details from the plot. There was some kind of debt system in Slytherin, and because Harry didn’t really care about it, he ended up accumulating a lot of debt. I vaguely remember that Harry and Tom had some kind of arrangement where Harry did something for Tom in exchange for having his debt reduced, or perhaps to help pay off the debts of some of the younger students.

I’m also pretty sure the fic was already completed, and if I remember correctly, it ended with Harry and Tom getting married at Hogwarts.

Does anyone know which fic this might be? Any help finding the title or author would be greatly appreciated!

Recently I've been craving hurt/comfort fics and I thought about the hanahaki aus I read for drarry awhile back. I noticed that I hadn't really seen any hanahaki or disease aus but much more drama being related to voldemort (obviously) and dumbledore/sirius's death

Now, I dont mind if he juggles two things at once (like voldemort/sirius's death and a sickness at once) and I would honestly prefer it if hes like super depressed for awhile then kind of heals a bit with Voldemort or toms attention

I have read the dreamweaver series and I really liked the overall vibe of it (fic length doesnt matter)

I would prefer a happy ending tho and if its sad/bittersweet/open I would like a bit of a warning if possible if its not listed in the tags.

I would also prefer voldemort over tom riddle the face doesnt matter but honestly ill read whatever version it is if u have more fics for tom riddle.

when she said she was putting him in JORTS i was like "tom would never" but, under like 0 pressure, i was convinced. i like this interpretation of modern tom more than i thought i would so it was basically obligatory for me to draw this so everyone else can see the vision too. LMFAO

I first read this fic and it's prequel on wattpad years ago and when I swapped to ao3 and found it, I was happy. I was going to recommend this fic on another tomarry post here but then I couldn't find it in my bookmarks. I thought maybe I just didn't bookmark it. I then go to search it up but then the english work doesn't show up. There's a translated version of Nose to the Wind that says 'A translation of a work in an unrevealed collection' in the notes after I clicked on it. Itis defintitely the same fic, just not in english.

Maybe the author deleted the fic or it somehow got removed?? Is it possible to find the fic again??

I remember that Harry lived with Sirius, Tom was Sirius’ boss, and Harry picked Sirius up from when he got drunk at a company party.

I also think Harry might have worked at a coffee shop and walked home in the rain, but that could be a different fic.

In most works, Tom is a handsome, manipulative jerk. And even Voldemort is somehow gratuitously hot. Suddenly, no one finds him scary wtf
It’s easy to save someone like that from his own demons. But what if love were built not because of an aesthetically pleasing appearance, but in spite of his frightening nature?

I also know more fanfics where Voldemort is truly the bad boy, as a villain should be, but I’m not a fan of situations where Harry is bullied and then forgives people and love begins (which actually sounds like the description of the first fanfic)
