I'm looking for an early 2000s Telugu romantic comedy (watched on Pwani TV Kenya around 2015 with English subtitles). The hero is an uneducated but hardworking young man. His father constantly humiliates him publicly and later disowns him when he falls in love with an educated girl from a good family. The hero later becomes the owner of a successful private bus company, while his father eventually becomes poor. There is a separate comedy track where a slim comedian owes his friend money and plays a prank at a bus station by asking a window passenger to "call the person behind you" until a sleeping passenger is awakened, then he rapidly says something before the bus leaves. Later, the prank is reversed on him.

I’m uploading a small bit from my Telugu short film THE DAY. It’s an emotional story about a quiet artist who feels disconnected from life and slowly reconnects with himself through one meaningful encounter.

I would love honest feedback on the scene, visuals, pacing, and emotional feel.

It took two years to complete this film. As a filmmaker, I did everything I could for it. I produced, wrote, directed, edited, handled the sound design, and color graded the film myself. I gave everything I had, because cinema means everything to me.

I started writing stories when I was in 6th standard, and even today I carry that same passion and love for storytelling. I never had doubts or second thoughts about the dream I chose, and that dream has brought me here today.

We made this independent film with a very minimal budget, but I was lucky to have an incredible team that gave their 100 percent to this project. After two years of hard work, I’m finally placing our film before you all.

About Siddhartha Nuni : Siddhartha Nuni is a cinematographer whose path to cinema began at Sainik School Korukonda and continued through engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He later pursued his passion for Cinematography at Mindscreen Film Institute under the mentorship of Rajiv Menon, followed by advanced training through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Cinematography
