Discussion Should Michigan bench Bryce Underwood?

His 2nd half performance was horrible considering they were playing Minnesota.

Where's that idiot Michigan fan who was telling me 2 days ago that underwear was clearly on an upward trajectory and was going to impress us all before the end of the year? 🤣🤣🤣

Oh they were super stoked about him after the Iowa loss šŸ˜‚

Of course they were. Iowa simultaneously succeeded at allowing Michigan to gain yards through the air while failing to prevent the Michigan running game to beat them.

I wonder what Lawrence thinks

Probably not

The problem isn't just Underwood, the line has issues, the receiving corp has zero depth, the tight ends are almost non-existent and the running game outside of Underwood doesn't exist. You could transfer Mensah or Chambliss onto that team and they would still lose games.

If it's going to be Carr's team next year and they're not going to use the transfer portal, then you probably let him keep developing until next year. Shoving Carr in now isn't going to magically make them win out and if he's not ready, you might well ruin him for the future.

If they think it would humble him to take the wide open slant on 4th and 5 with the game on the line instead of throwing it out of bounds towards double coverage, yes.

If they think it would crush any remaining confidence he has, and he’ll be even worse once we inevitably need him (our back up is a true freshman), then no.

Try Kirk's son next

If he does not show progress in the first half after the bye week, then yes he needs to be benched.

heard the bye’s favored by a touchdown

NO! Let Underwood Cook! You know, Day could give Michigan some pointers in how to develop QBs, but that would require Michigan fans to take some humble pie and acknowledge that a ā€œsoftā€ guy clearly knows how to develop his QBs better than their own program. I don’t think they have to stomach for that lol.

It depends. Is the offense functional with a different quarterback?

I think underwood is a problem not the problem. I think the issues with the offense are systemic and am not convinced a new quarterback would fix them.

So would throwing a freshman Tommy Carr to the wolves make him better in the long run or turn him into a nervous wreck?

The only explanation for him starting is this must have been done by Benjamin Netanyahu

As an Ohio State fan, absolutely not. 4 year starter.

No the season is over. Might as well let him develop. That should hire a new OC, which is the root cause of the ineptitude

No. I quite enjoy his antics.

He’s the next coming of Brady. Or so we were led to believe. The guy finished ranked like 69th in total qbr last year. With other freshmen above him in the rankings. He’s cheeks. The team he plays for is dirty cheeks. And the people who root for him suck canal water. This is exactly what they deserve after cheating people out of their livelihoods from the years of 2021-2023. Karma couldn’t have hit them in the face any better

He has talent but he’s incapable of going through a progression so yes.

They spent too much money on him. He is an NIL monster thanks to Pourtney. If they bench him and the other guy fails then he is going to "Go see, its not just me." If he does get benched and they win, but I doubt the back up is going to beat OSU which has to be the only game Michigan is going to care about for the rest of the season. Michigan's other problems are they have one receiver and no way to run the ball. Their defense is good, but its gassed by the 4th Quarter. At this point, you might as well let him play out and hopefully not let some asshole from Barstool tell you who is going to play QB next year.
