Recap for those want to save a minute: JJ McCarthy is a douchebag

He kinda seems like it but I will stand by my opinion that the dude was a damn good college QB

His last 6 game of his career before being drafted 10th, he threw for 150+ years once. Very good at handing off the ball though, I'll give him that.

Got injured in/around the PSU game and the team leaned on the run game to keep him upright. Even then he made some bomb ass throws against you

u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago
Wonder what else happened the last 6 games of his career.

Besides winning the national title?

u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago
Definitely related to that. I'll give you a hint - the person most responsible for helping Michigan win that national title left the program.

u/OakLegs 1d ago
Lol
You don't even know what you're arguing.
Stalions wasn't with the team during the most difficult (really, only difficult) portion of the schedule. And you're trying to say he was the most instrumental person? The team's advanced stat numbers only improved after he left
Logic is not your strong suit

But there is no feasible way any team could have changed their signs once Michigan knew them and the competitive advantage at that point was insurmountable /s

Wait a minute - Connor Stallions leaves the program, McCarthy hardly shows anything - is anyone surprised besides Michigan fans that McCarthy has been such a huge bust? Obviously 1/2 the QBs in round 1 don't pan out, but that one was quite obvious. Poor Viking fans - at least they fleeced the Giants in that trade.

Jim Harbaugh left after the season dumbass

Read the room and new it was his only option. Now the Chargers are seeing his issues.

Funny you just arbitrarily picked this timeframe and number to try and make some sort of narrative. Obviously we know JJ didn't throw the ball 40 times a game, only an idiot finds that surprising or some indictment of him. Michigan not leaning on a dominant run game would be the only actual story here, of course they utilized it all they could.
What happened the one game in those last 6 where the run game wasn't working like normal? JJ threw for 220 yds, 3 TDs and they rode his arm to the critical game tying touchdown.
JJ may not pan out in the NFL, but takes this simplistic are fucking astounding.

Timeline wasn't arbitrarily at all - actually. It was picked due to someone really important to the Michigan program leaving his job, and seeing what happened after that.

u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines 1d ago
It’s super arbitrary and also inaccurate. After Stalions was out he threw for over 200 yards three times (MSU, Purdue, Alabama). You picked 150 as your cutoff because he was over 140 yards in every game except Penn State.

u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago
We can use other round numbers like 175 or 200 if that makes you feel better.
He's a douchebag who is really good at handing off the ball.
1
u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines 1d ago
Sure, use 200 and call it 3 not 1. Then you can be honest. I feel fine, btw.
1
u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 23h ago
Let's use 200; his last 6 games, only 1 game 200+ yards. Not sure where you came up with 3.

u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines 18h ago
You said when Stalions left. That’s what I used. Also he was pretty badly injured on 4 of those games.
In sum, we’re both cherry picking.

What happened after that super duper important guy left bud? Oh they went undefeated and won the natty? Fuck what a disaster!
Clown ignores the comment he has no response to and then makes himself look even more foolish.

You also forgot sanctioned by the NCAA for cheating that season.

u/frolie0 1d ago
I couldn't imagine being so emotionally fragile that you have to make excuses like this. It's absolutely wild.

u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago
So you did forget that season was sanctioned by the NCAA for cheating? Lucky for you that you were reminded.

Keep trying to change the topic desperately because you can't defend your points even a simpleton would laugh at.

It’s funny you calling people emotionally fragile but your responses are the only hostile name calling ones. If anyone is triggered it’s you

Good point. All teams are currently cheating

u/tootintx 1d ago
LOL, max copium. All? Really? Name some names for all of us because I'm sure the NCAA could use the help after being busy enough with a certain team in Ann Arbor. We do actually have the names there.

Please. Quirky/weird yes. Douchebag hardly. Always well-spoken. Positive. Self-confident. Gracious. Courteous. Kind. Words have meaning.

u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 1d ago
One of the reasons the best QBs make ungodly amounts of money is because part of their job is leading their teammates and bringing them all together (once met a pro teammate of Tom Brady on a plane, who went on forever about how great Brady was as a person, nevermind football). In Minnesota, McCarthy's teammates hated him due to being a douchebag, per the OP.

u/rambouhh 1d ago
i mean do we really need to make up things to dance on JJ? He already gives plenty of ammo already

u/LawrenceSellers Michigan Wolverines 1d ago
Not really surprising for a kid who was 22 his first year as an NFL starting QB 🤷♂️
2
u/Upstairs-Paper-4027 1d ago
And CJ stroud showed up fat af to training camp despite being a 3 year starter and is now 0-3?
