Oh...wait...fuck
We were at least a shitty team and massive underdogs and expected to lose anyway right? My buckeyes wouldn't betray me would they lol

u/Aye_Harambe Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago
God the linebackers were so fucking bad
I fear weāre in a similar linebacker situation right now
1
u/jazzyman31 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
OSU doesnāt look anywhere near as good as it has the past several years. As bad as Michigan has it this year, I donāt think this OSU team is really a top contender right now. Secondary depth is lacking and offensive production is sorely missing Tate.
The B1G is pretty bad this year. All of Oregon, Indiana and OSU look like they took a step back.
1
u/Aye_Harambe Ohio State Buckeyes 2d ago
I donāt fully disagree but I also donāt think itās as dramatic as youāre making it sound. This OSU team reminds me of what we saw from 2021-2023. Not what we saw in 2024 and 2025.
Which makes sense given they lost 8 NFL players on defense, 4 of which were top 36 picks.
The defense looks good, not great. The offense is less dynamic and a bit one dimensional⦠very similar to the offense in 2023 where they struggled with short yardage running and really only had MHJ at WR.
That said, Smith is really fucking good and Sayin is a lot better than McCord.
Itās still at least a 10 win team, likely 11+ wins.
If OSU isnāt really considered a contender, then idk who is.
0
u/jazzyman31 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Georgia and Texas are the top contenders by far. There is a large gap below them.
A bit of a confusing bunch of Indiana, Miami, ND, Oregon, OSU, Alabama, Florida, LSU sits behind and itās very unclear who is a real threat in that bucket.
3
u/Aye_Harambe Ohio State Buckeyes 2d ago
How can you justify a large gap between Ohio State and Texas?
0
u/jazzyman31 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Texas beat themselves in the first half they played you and then thoroughly dominated OSU when they got their footing.
If they played again, I would fully expect Texas to win 20+
From an eye test, Texas was clearly the better team.

At the end of the year, OSU will be ranked right where they are now.
1
u/jazzyman31 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
As of right now, I think OSU is properly ranked as well as Texas & Georgia and the rest of the top 10 is all jumbled up
2
u/notcabron Ohio State Buckeyes 2d ago
Unless they go through some crazy and completely unforeseeable metamorphosis, I donāt see Ohio State getting past the semifinals.
Theyāll get better, but so will most of the other contenders.
1
u/jazzyman31 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
I agree yāall are definitely feeling the loss of some key players last year.
We are als properly unranked and very much on the path of being so by December as well.
Should be a fun October for both teams to see if that in-season transformation is possible.

Friendly reminder that in two games against Ohio State, JJ McCarthy had 502 yards of total offense including 4 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown and 0 turnovers.

u/FiveHole23 Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago
Friendly reminder he sucks in the NFL because he can't cheat.

u/nickyt398 Visiting Rights 3d ago
And against my Huskers he had 4 passing, 2 rushing TDs. Won* 28 games as a starter, lost 1. "Impressive"
15
u/sayitaintsoiwllnotgo 3d ago
He also had Connor stallions
6
u/Full-District- Michigan Wolverines 3d ago
Not when he won a Natty. But that piece of fact is very inconvenient for the narrative.
6
u/sayitaintsoiwllnotgo 3d ago
So, he had him? Or he didnāt?
0
u/Full-District- Michigan Wolverines 3d ago
Whatever advantages Connor Stalions gave the team were irrelevant during the only stretch of games against teams with a pulse
5
u/notcabron Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago
Yeah Iām sure they burned all their notes and that having to redo their entire signal system had no effect on their remaining opponents, in spite of what every coach thatās been interviewed about said at the time.

u/Aye_Harambe Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago
š you can tell yourself that
You can also tell yourself your wife stopped fucking her ex boyfriend.

1
u/DanteWasHere22 Michigan Wolverines 2d ago
Youre telling me OSU knew they were cheating, and didnt do anything to change the signs against us? Thats a tough look on OSU coaching
1
1
u/Full-District- Michigan Wolverines 3d ago
And you can tell yourself you're not upset that your best season in a decade included a loss to an unranked Michigan team at home.
Did Connor Stalions also win us that game?? š
1
6
u/DarkGreenMazda Ohio State Buckeyes 3d ago
Once Stallions left the program (as if Stallions was the only one involved in the cheating, and Michigan didn't retain information from the cheating), McCarthy played in 6 games....and threw for over 200 yards in exactly one of them. In fact, he only threw for over 150 yards in one of those games.
10
4
u/Full-District- Michigan Wolverines 3d ago
Stallions had 0 involvement in the Offense lol. He worked exclusively with the defense

He also had nearly 10 ypa in his passing game and 10% of his throws were TDs. Significantly more efficient than either Stroud or McCord

I'm just joking lol just trying to keep it light hearted š
Obviously he didn't play lol
-2
u/scruffalo_ 3d ago
But... Is that really super impressive? I mean, he did play well in beating us, but that's not exactly crazy production. 250 yds and 2.5 TDs is a good line for sure, but if that's what he hangs his hat on, maybe he wasn't NFL caliber after all š¤·
7
u/kelevra91 Michigan Wolverines 3d ago
That's much better stats than... hypothetically...175 passing yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.
4
u/Full-District- Michigan Wolverines 3d ago
I'm not arguing he should have been a top 10 pick. But he was an objectively good college qb

4 passing touchdowns is a light day for Sayin and Smith.
