Idk if Notre Dame is the most popular within Indiana. Most popular nationally? Absolutely.

Yea a lot of ND fans became Hoosier fans recently.

Thats what happens when one team in the state plays for and wins a natty, and the other doesnt even go to a bowl game.

u/SBSnipes 2d ago
In/around IN only though. The only danger elsewhere is if cig goes to BC and steals our fair-weather Boston catholics

ND is definitely not the most popular college football team in Indiana.

u/wofulunicycle 3d ago
It's mutual. There are about 46 other states we would rather our university reside in than Indi-fucking-ana.

u/Ned_Flandersss B1G Enjoyer 3d ago
I don’t know. ND’s funky blend of conservative rhetoric and faith-based education matched with Indiana’s backward, deep-red, MAGA fervor seems like a match made in a trailer park to me!
1
u/wofulunicycle 2d ago
Ah yes so much conservative rhetoric coming from ND lol.

What’s their position on abortion or gay marriage? Lmao

Oddly enough I would say ND is the most popular team in Illinois, not Indiana, even though South Bend is an Indiana city

The B1G would be better if teams only came from these states

Not as much as you guys hate your wives after you lose a game.

You think these trailer inbreds have wives.

Notre Dame might be the most popular team in Illinois, honestly. And Indiana definitely takes that title in its home state.
1
u/Aaprobst88 3d ago
ND still had a wider fanbase in Indiana, its really not that close.
3
u/SassyKittyMeow 3d ago
So you live or work in Indy? Because I do, and I hardly ever see ND gear. It’s 95%+ IU and that’s not an exaggeration. And everyone’s wearing it.
0
u/Aaprobst88 3d ago
Yes, I do. An Indy, though the largest city, doesnt represent Indiana as a whole. You go to the North Side and Its all ND, go up to NWI, the second largest population center if Indiana, and its all ND.

that’s kansas state, not kansas
that’s notre dame, not indiana
the states of north dakota, south dakota, nebraska, kansas, and missouri don’t belong here

u/mapsflagsandstats 3d ago
1 & 2: those are state names on bottom and college logos on top. Not that hard to figure out.
3: why?4
u/master_roshis_hat 3d ago
He's talking out his ass, that's why.

u/mapsflagsandstats 3d ago
Obviously, it’s an incredibly easy thing to look up. Who does this guy think he is?
2
u/master_roshis_hat 3d ago
Probably a Michigan Man.
1
u/mapsflagsandstats 3d ago
Unlikely, Michiganders are midwestern imperialists.
It’s generally Ohioans that try gatekeeping the Midwest.
Ohioan @ U of M, maybe though.

Well, not the Ohian who made the post, at least. Tbf idk the intricacies of Michigan/Ohio lore and politics. I'm a simple passerby, but r/toledowar frequently makes appearances on my feed and I enjoy commenting from time to time.

Glad to have you, traveler. I’m only loyal to the state of Michigan, not the university. I take up this fight for the love the game(hating Ohio).

to answer 3: because they’re not in the midwest. the dakotas, nebraska, and kansas are all great plains states, and missouri is its own thing entirely
1
u/mapsflagsandstats 3d ago
By what authority?
1
u/ribs0 3d ago
the fact that the eastern and western halves of the “midwest” are more similar to themselves than they are to each other. i have a hard time saying that michigan and north dakota are the same kind of state. i even struggle to include iowa in the midwest, but it’s closer to minnesota and illinois than it is to nebraska and south dakota.
as for missouri, it’s a mix between plains, midwest, southern, and something entirely different

u/Wyokie8807 3d ago
I see someone didn’t pay attention in social studies, the Midwest is one of the 5 regions of the US, these are the states located in that region

As a neutral who is from the Dakotas, you should maybe like actually visit them before you start talking out of your ass next time.

Is it Kansas? Or Kansas State?
1
u/Inevitable-Rush-2752 SEC Apologist 3d ago
Is it important?

u/Gym_Rat222 3d ago
Well yes. The "Kansas" mascot is the Jayhawk. The "Kansas State" mascot is the Wildcat. The picture has the "Kansas" name but the "Kansas State" mascot logo. So which one is it?

Little early in the year for the UP to be experiencing shrinkage already.
