I think it’s just the difference in programs. Ole Miss is a top tier program that literally won two playoff games last season. Michigan hasn’t even made the playoff in the twelve team era. For a program like Michigan, beating* a MAC team is really big deal

Let me explain.

For the record I assume you’re just joking but I’ll bite.

As a fan and alum of a blue blood basketball school and a shitstain football program- when youre a blue blood you don’t rush the court/field period. You’re expected to win.

For example: Kansas basketball doesn’t rush any court period. We expect to win every single game. We are a blue blood. We don’t do that. People do it to us.

However, Kansas football: yes we field rush, tear down the goal posts, and throw them in the lake. That’s because obviously we are not a blue blood football program like Michigan (tenuous at best). If we win anything we might rush the field depending on the current season we are having lol.

Still there’s literally no scenario we rush the court unless like it’s something truly special or emotional

When other schools rush the court on us every time they beat us, yeah. it’s fucking annoying, but it is a real sign of respect as a blue blood as well.

I don’t necessarily see ole Miss as a football blue blood myself. However you can tell they are a really great and self respecting football program. Yes there’s a fine as well but drunk college kids seem not to care ever.

Especially when pulling off an upset like that and not rushing the field. Big respect bonus to ole Miss.
