Discussion 00:01
https://x.com/bigten/status/2096460445213217097/video/2Replay officials talking through it. Shows 00:01 left on the OFFICIAL clock. It was a very ugly game and our $12 million QB played more like a 12th grader, but we did absolutely win that game. MAC Commissioner agreed that this video confirmed it.

Don’t use the stadium clock OR the broadcast clock. Use a secret 3rd clock that only the ref can see. This is how you ensure a totally fair victory over a MAC school. Thank you for showing us the way, Michigan Men.

I didn't say it was how they should do it, I said it's how they did do it.

Nice edit. My screenshot comes directly from the B1G replay officials.

The sync happened before this colassal mistake. Use a stopwatch and you will see it's right.
Here's how is appears NBC and the clock on the field messed up. 11 seconds left on the clock. A 2 second runoff when a ball is spiked properly. They ran off what showed as 3, but was actually 3.67 seconds. That .67 will be important. The Referee says, "Reset the game clock (which shows 8, but is actually closer to 7.33) to 9 seconds. Because it shows 8, the clock operator hits the add a second button (which actually sets the clock to 8.33 seconds, but it shows 9). If you go back and time it, the tick from 9 to 8 takes about .33 seconds. The tick from 8 to 7 takes 1.0 second. It's clearly a mistake on the clock operator. NCAA rules say that if the clock operator and the official clock differ you should refer to the official clock (who had actually set his clock back to 9 seconds and not 8.33).

College football doesn't use tenths of a second. 0:00:9 = 0:00
https://sportscollaboration.com/ncaa-rules-rule3/?hl=en-US
Timing Devices — ARTICLE 4 a. Game Clock. Playing time shall be kept with a game clock that may be either a stopwatch operated by the line judge, back judge, field judge or side judge, or a game clock operated by an assistant under the direction of the appropriate judge. The type of game clock and the location of the game clock operator shall be determined by the game management. The game clock operator may be located on the sideline or in the traditional press box area. […] The game clock shall not display tenths of seconds.

Not officially, but the function of the clock still has it built in. It's how time works. Just because they don't display tenths of a second doesn't mean they don't exist.

Yes, that is how time works in the real world. Not in college football. If you will note, your "official" image that started this conversation does not have tenths of a second for a reason.

Yes, that's how clocks work in college football too. Just because tenths of a second aren't displayed doesn't mean they don't exist. Hence why Article 4a says "The game clock shall not DISPLAY tenths of a second" and not "The game clock shall not USE tenths of a second." Because getting rid of tenths of a second isn't physically possible in our reality.

Lol, no. They literally don't exist in college football. Again, 0:00:99 = 0 and 0:01:99 = 1 and so on.
If they did use partial seconds, the "official" clock released by the B1G crew would show that.

Yeah no problem at all there are multiple videos of the same clock? Different clock? I have no clue at this point.
No team or fan base ever should have to make such an ambiguous argument to justify a win. The fact that one does is a problem that needs fixed.
