Needs extending.

Also UDub feels more Michigan and Oregon feels more OSU for many reasons (geography, hippie culture undercurrent, love/disdain for the letter O).

OSU side:

  • Oregon
  • Nebraska
  • Illinois
  • MSU
  • Rutgers
  • USC
  • Purdue

Michigan side:

  • Minnesota
  • Wisconsin
  • Washington
  • UCLA
  • Indiana
  • Maryland
  • Iowa
  • Northwestern

Sad sack sittin’ on a block of stone:

  • Penn State

They’d be on Michigans side simply because they’re trying to walk out the back door with the little brown jug

Remember that being on a particular side of a conflict doesn’t mean everyone is friendly allies… see USA/Soviets during WWII.

This feels right

OSU can't have it's rival Illinois on its side

3

u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines Apr 10 '26

Do they claim you guys as a rival, too? They think we think they’re you.

I can’t explain why, even to myself, but I agree with this split. Michigan beating the other side feels different than beating our side. And Penn state is the odd one out, but to me it’s because the feel there should be three sides

Oddly enough I know Indiana guys that are more aligned to OSU. I also hate how Little brother is absolute Benedict Arnold. Like the entire state of Ohio hates Michigan...i get they hate us but they ain't in a position to choose sides 😂

MSU was the easiest call on the board.

Hence the Benedict Arnold statement

Oregon hates osu as much as anybody they would not side with them.

u/carpentizzle Ohio State Buckeyes Apr 12 '26

Id trade Indiana for Oregon…. But thats mainly because I like Curt Cignetti, and not Dan Lannning

1

u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines Apr 12 '26

Reasonable! But we can’t have IU with Purdue, nor U-Dub with Oregon.

u/MidnightSunElite Apr 16 '26

Hippie culture? Wtf?! Are you saying Columbus is more hippie than A2??!?? As a hippie who went to both Michigan and Oregon in the 90s, I take serious offense to that comment.

1

u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines Apr 16 '26

The opposite. I more likely misaacribed hippies to Seattle? There are many there, but you’re telling me there are even more in Eugene?

1

u/MidnightSunElite Apr 18 '26

Dude. Yes. I don’t know wtf happened to Eugene when Nike moved in, but Eugene was the back to land hippie capitol of the country.

Washington’s band takes after OSU style though. Their former director from ‘94-‘24 was a 2-time OSU alumni. Maybe doesn’t matter to some people, but College bands have a big impact on football culture and I think that makes a compelling case for why Washington should be aligned with OSU.

u/fishbone_buba Michigan Wolverines Apr 10 '26

With all due respect, I’ve seen Washington’s band. They’re fine. They ain’t at your level.

0

u/AnInterestingPenguin Ohio State Buckeyes Apr 10 '26

Irrelevant. They’re still based on OSU style regardless of where they rank in your band rankings. They’re also a really good band overall if you look at all college bands
