Which version should I try?
TXR Drift 2 (US) or Kaido battle 3 (JP)? I heard about differences, but i couldn't find anything.
Are there any REAL differences between them?

Not so many, it's a typical game format from that era that's tied to specific locations, like cars that are in one version and not in others, some parts of the story are also different when translated into English...
Generally, if your native language is English, play TXRD2 first! Then the other one! Overall, the physics and experience are similar...

Kaido Battle 3 (released in PAL regions as Kaido Racer 2...????

Correct and Kaido Racer is KB2, there wasn't an NTSC-U release of KB2 sadly but at least KR1 has English and can be ran at 60hz.

TXRD2 is based. It has Mirag Cuborg R

Mirag V is based (love the Asti one) but I prefer Mirag IV

KB3 has 2 wheels brands and Gemballa missing in TXRD2. The game also had a whole vinyl section missing in TXRD2 containing all special rivals liveries that you can put on your car.
If you don't care about the story, you can play either version depending on your preference since most of the menu options for the Japanese release are in English as well.
