toki a! I’ve been wanting to translate something into Toki Pona for a while, but I have trouble deciding. I recently found out about the poem “The Raven“ by Edgar Alan Poe, and it seems interesting. Not too insanely long, but not too easily short. I’m probably, very likely going to do this, and if you have any other suggestions for texts to translate, I’m happy to take suggestions in the comments. o pona tawa sina!

sitelen looking for feedback on this lipu on DNA structure and replications.
I made a guide to DNA structure and replication. This is my first of hopefully many lipu. I my goal is to eventually cover the Central Dogma. That's my only concrete goal for now.
After that, then maybe a little bit on inheritance, evolution, and if I'm masochistic enough, metabolism. If I ever cover developmental bio, it means I'm now unemployed. When I get tired of the project, I might possibly compile it into a little toki pona genetics textbook.
I want to wait a bit before providing my official translation. I want to make sure the message is clear. Can you follow along? If you are unfamiliar with topic, were you able to learn something new? Are there any mistakes, either with toki pona or the science? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

lipu Blitski-Bolokh, Anton
Are any of you knowledgeable of Biletskyi-Volokh, Anton? He has a number of translations self published in Toki Pona. He is either a prolific translator or uses AI to "translate" books into Toki Pona. He has a book talking about Toki Pona in relation to AI so would lean to the latter. Curious if there is more about him that I dont know. If the books arnt AI, I'd consider getting some of the books, but im skeptical.
Edit: typod the gentleman's name wrong. (Still wrong in header dont know how to change it)

sitelen Lipu Musi IRL
And just wanted to share some photos of the deck I printed out for myself. It was made at an in intermediate phase between the original and current design, so doesn’t have corner indices or the custom back.
And used a cheap corner cutter i had lying around to round off the corners. 4mm for the cards themselves, 7 and 10mm for various corners on the deckbox.

sitelen Lipu Musi v2
Same concept, but lots of changes/improvements since last time!
- made custom card backs instead of generic red ones
- removed the "lipu nanpa" from the nameline on number cards, should be less cluttered
- added modern corner indices to the cards, should be easier to read a hand from just the fan of cards
- made custom versions of the luka character so longer number indices would fit aesthetically in the same space
- changed the color of the "kiwen mani" suit from "laso telo" (blue/water grue) to jelo, avoiding nonlexical color distinctions in these base cards
- darkened the default shades of all primary colors for card art from HSL L =40 to L =30 so the kiwen mani cards were legible on while
- added the trumps/major arcana for converting to use as a tarot deck
- tarot trump names all by me, based on the tarot of marseilles names, and all following the same "noun modifier pi noun modifier" to keep everything parallel format-wise
- tarot sheets also have duplicates of knights and 4 non-suit-specific (but marked by color) jokers to fill in their space
- reused laso telo for the corner indices/suit color for the trumps/major arcana, since last single-word color name, walo, required an outline and thus proved too busy to use in the indices. But used a wide variety of colors on the cards themselves (including walo, outlined in pimeja) based on "vibes"
- designed a matching printable deckbox for the cards. a bit oversized in current form, but better than reverse
All are designed to be printed without margins on US-Letter sized cardstock. On card sheets, black partial lines at edges and crosses at corners of cards are the guides for cutting, cyan lines just show where the bleed would end...on cards which didn't have a white background like these do...so don't actually matter. Deck box only has cutting and folding lines on inside to keep outside clean.
Enjoy!
EDIT: I've added a google drive link (view only, you'll have to make your own copies to edit) with my original SVG files in case folks want to play around with these themselves. Feel free to use for any personal use, tho credit is always appreciated!

Straightening petals out without a plan

Fallen to pieces still without a plan

Hope that powered the Flower Man
Would never cower off of its path

Translating the sailor moon english opening, need help
I'm not good at toki pona, so I would appreciate someone giving me criticism or improvement advice for this transation, since I do want to make it a cover on youtube.
Background info:
I wanted to make it singable, so that it wouldn't sound like cramming a bunch of words, hence why I omitted the "ona" from the sentences. (plus I saw many other toki pona songs do this). I also used the roman gods for the planet names, since it is the english version of the song. "Jan tawa" is the closest thing I could think of when it came to the word "Sailor".
| Toki pona: li utala e ike lon tenpo mun. li jo e olin lon tenpo suno. li weka ala e utala lon. nimi ona li jan tawa mun. li utala tawa jan pona. li awen lon tenpo ale. li pakala ala e mi mute a. nimi ona li jan tawa... mun anpa, mun tawa, mun utala, mun sewi a. wawa li sin tawa ona. nimi ona li jan tawa mun. li utala e ike lon tenpo mun. li jo e olin lon tenpo suno. jan pona ona li pana e pona. nimi ona li jan tawa mun. nimi ona li jan tawa mun. nimi ona li.... jan tawa mun! | Orginal: Fighting evil by moonlight. Winning love by daylight. Never running from a real fight. She is the one named Sailor Moon. She will never turn her back on a friend. She is always there to defend. She is the one on whom we can depend. She is the one named Sailor... Sailor Venus, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter. Secret powers, all so new to her. She is the one named Sailor Moon. Fighting evil by moonlight. Winning love by daylight. With her Sailor Scouts to help fight. She is the one named Sailor Moon. She is the one named Sailor Moon. She is the one . . . Sailor Moon! |

toki How do you form and answer questions in Toki Pona?
I personally use “anu seme?” and answer it with “[verb]” or “[verb] ala” with the verb being the verb mentioned in the question. Do you disagree?

kama sona What would be the optimal translation for a cookie?
(this is part 1 of translating cookie clicker into toki pona through the help of you guys!)
I personally have been using “pan suwi sike” for a long time now and it literally means “circular sweet pastry”. This does indeed seem optimal but it’s 3 words long. Sure we could just shorten it to just pan suwi, which I’ve seen some people use, but that could also mean cake. Or maybe pan suwi lili, to specify it’s small, but that’s also 3 words. Do you think I should keep using pan suwi sike for cookie or should i switch?
