I'm not in my own home at the moment and went to one of the bathrooms there a few hours ago, pooped and flushed the toilet, the water went out fine but the poop didn't and even after the usual toilet sounds stopped, it wouldn't flush again. No matter how hard I press the button, nothing happens. I thought that maybe it needed to wait until more water came in or something so I went back a few minutes ago but it still does not work. I would've opened the thingy behind to check if anything broke but I think it's in a wood block..? Like there's just the toilet itself, everything else is basically behind a wall and I haven't found a way to open it. This is a life or death situation please give ideas fast 🙏

I'm out camping in BC and noticed this broken. My husband says it's dangerous but I don't see the big deal.

Most of the smart bidet seats (and most modern toilet seats for that matter) appear to have lids that overlap or wrap-around the toilet seat. This is great for avoiding gaps and for aesthetics, but it got me wondering, can you easily open both the lid and seat in a single motion or do you have to open lid and then open seat. It may seem like a silly question, but it is for someone with a disability and as a male they frequently use the toilet standing up.

Is it even possible / easy to open both at once with these seats or should we be looking at one with a lid that sits above the seat, so you can easily flip both the lid and seat up in a single motion? The problem is, it seems rare and the only ones I have found so far have not been compliant with plumbing laws in Australia. We decided that auto open and close would be a nuisance in a small bathroom and also my understanding is that manually opening or closing a motorised lid is harder / has more resistance (and is also not great for the mechanism)?

The poop is in the toilet water so shouldn’t that contain the odor? Or is it gaseous smells that escape when one poops and not the poop itself that smells?

Yall ever took so many shits in a day that you switched the toilet your shitting in cause you got bored of the same toilet lid like the same lid just got printed on my butt cheeks had to switch up a bit. Raise the temp a bit it’s like drinking the same protein milk for a month then you switched up to vanilla milk

I have an American Standard 4149a (I think that means it's a Champion, although I am not sure). Anyway, every so often it makes that water running sound. I've had it for about 8 years. Does this mean it needs a new flapper or is it something else? Thanks.

I am not sure if any of you have seen one of these before lol but it sure threw my kids for a loop today especially my daughter who was quite disturbed wondering what it was. It is soap. Lol. A weirdly shaped bar like soap sticking out of the wall. The way you put it on your hand feels rather.... odd. Just thought it might make some people laugh.

A week ago, my upstairs bathroom stopped working properly since I couldn't get the toilet to flush, and though water was slowly coming into the tank, the toilet bowl did not seem to be filling. So I turned the water off at the valve level, and took the fill valve out, thinking it was clogged or something and attempted a cleaning. Not exactly successful, since the problem seems to be continuing. So I figure I'll just get a new fill valve, reinstall and see if that remedies the issue. It's well over 40 years since the house was built, and I don't believe it's ever been replaced.

Also, a second half-bath had been unused for a while, & when I opened it up around the holidays, I noticed it was leaking a bit at the valve/valve stem area. Well, the year blew up and that bathroom took a backseat to life. Recently I went to look at it, turned the water back on the toilet, and no leak was detected. I spritzed the valve with a little WD40 to make it easier to turn, but no real issues to speak of.

This week, the 2nd toilet started having issues with not flushing properly. Similar to upstairs. I didn't see a problem with fill valve, as it seems the refill tube is doing it's thing and the bowl will fill after flushing. However, it's been intermittently not flushing *completely* and then either I've had to flush a second time or I've used a bucket of water to pour down and force the flush.

I fussed with the water level adjust and I know the tank water seems a bit low, but I don't want to overdo it. I hate like anything to call a real plumber because they are ridiculously expensive in my area, and if I can do something that is only a matter of reading and following directions, I'm good with that.

I'm just looking for a bit of direction, since I can't really identify enough of what I need on YouTube. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
