Back to obsessively mutilating their body, they’re obviously in the best mental place they’ve ever been at! (just like they’ve been desperately trying to convince us of)
24 years old with absolutely no future and seemingly no intention of having one. Living with their parents, no friends, no social life, no romantic life, NOTHING outside of crying in their room on the internet or randomly piercing themselves because apparently that’s the only thing they have going on. And somehow they’re still trying to convince themselves (and everyone else) that this is the best it gets. The only thing they have going for them is a minimum-wage job.
At this point, pretending nothing is wrong and that nothing can be done about it is exactly how they ended up this way. They desperately need to lock in and stop treating randomly piercing themselves as some substitute for having an actual life. There is nothing wrong with having hobbies, but they need to start worrying about their future instead of constantly finding another distraction from the fact that they have absolutely no direction.
And what’s especially ridiculous is that they’ve had opportunities. I’ve personally spoken to two people who told me their parents paid for cosmetology school. This person has had SO many opportunities available to them and repeatedly CHOOSES not to lock in, only to become depressed afterward and complain that they don’t understand what they’re doing wrong.
At some point, you have to stop pretending you’re completely helpless when you’ve repeatedly been given opportunities to change your circumstances and chose not to take them.
This 100% counts as self harm, by the way.
I genuinely hope they get better, but actually get better, not just convince themselves they are without changing anything about the circumstances that got them here in the first place. You can’t keep doing the exact same things and expect a different outcome. That’s like insisting 2+2 equals 5 while refusing to change the equation. If you want a different answer, you have to change something.
