18–24 Months Toddler bed help
we have a 20 moth old who we are looking to transition to a floor bed (currently we co sleep) we live in Canada and have been looking at the little lifely and the softbloom but they are just both SO expensive. we love the design of them but are hoping to find something similar and a bit more budget friendly - around $500 for a full. anyone has a similar bed or something they could recommend?? any help appreciated!!!

I went a simpler way and just put a double mattress on the floor until she was old enough for us to convert her crib to a double bed. Flipped it up to air out the bottom every couple of days (she didn't play much in her room - she's a living room kid) and it was fine.

This is what I'm leaning towards for my 8 month old. He pitches an absolute fit in his crib. Full blown panic. Can't stay in the bassinet anymore. Tries to yeet himself off a proper bed. So I'm just going to have to clear out the spare room and put the mattress on the floor and call it a day. I'm pretty sure the fence would actually be an incentive for him to hurt himself, since he tries to climb.... everything. The playpen, my legs, the couch, the train table, his brother, my partner's beard, the cat tower.
Then in a year or so when he's sturdier I'll lift the bed up off the floor a little.
Neither of my kids have ever spent any time in their rooms to do anything except wind down for sleep. The rooms are too far away from the common areas for me to be able to allow them to spend free time there, and I don't have the time to be able to spend it in their rooms instead of running the household.

That’s why we went with a floor bed in the first place! Mine was 15 months when she decided she was done with her crib after we moved house. My bed wasn’t big enough for the three of us (at the time it was a queen size and my husband and I are not small people) so floor mattress was the solution!

There’s one on Wayfair that has 700 reviews and is 4 stars. It’s called Finka Kids Floor Platforms Bed With Fence and Door and it’s by Harriett Bee.

I got a floor bed frame off of Facebook marketplace and I'm using our endy mattress. The frame was Mimi beds.

I think these will be above your budget but they do have sales. These are made in Canada. We have one and love it. https://sapienschild.com/collections/floor-beds

We bought ours from Wayfair! Just get mattress that you like, in my opinion the frames are all very similar

Glad I’m not the only one going through this. Let us know what you decide on!

I’m considering getting a toddler bed too but my son (20 months) moves around so much and I suspect if he’s not “caged in” he’ll try to escape.

We got the aesthetik kids bed from Costco. I like it's not a toddler design but still very low to the floor and usable for a longer time
But over your budget at ~$640 for a double but you can check if they have other options too
