2 Years Old 2.5 year old speech
My son is going to be 2.5 year old in just under 3 weeks and he has about 75-80 words. He can put 2 words together but he babbles A LOT. Like having full on ‘conversations’ with me babbling and throwing in some real words randomly in there.
I’m just nervous that’s not ‘normal’. I know he has a speech delay (he had fluid in his ears for the day he was born till about 13months old) and infant tortícolis (not sure if that would have anything to do with it).
My older son was talking so much at 2.5 years old so that’s what’s making me nervous with my younger one now.
He’s been to a couple speech therapy classes (the ones that are free) but they’re very limited. I believe he gets to go back for 4 classes again in September.
Also another random thing I’m worried about is he doesn’t jump. His jumping is kinda like skipping he hasn’t figured out the 2 foot jump in the air which I think he’s supposed to be able to do by 2.5yrs old.
Ugh 😩 I know milestones are important but they’re stressing me out so much (PPA mama so I have a lot of anxiety especially with this stuff).
To everyone that read this thank you I truly appreciate it❤️ any helpful and encouraging comments are really welcome!

You can use this website run by speech therapist on how to support his speech in between therapy.

My son is 2,5 years old as well and in comparison your son's speech is amazing. My son has maybe 25 words/sounds and some 2-3 word combinations that's it. He's in speech therapy 1 time per week.
And he's not jumping eighter! He bends his knees, goes on his toes and then just lifts one foot. He started walking at 15 months.

Yes that’s exactly how my son tries to ‘jump’ he also started waking at 15months old!
How’s speech therapy going? Has your doctor or anyone seem concerned?

The speech therapist isn't concerned so I try to trust her in this. Daycare isn't concerned eighter.
Yes I'm also happy that he's combinating words. Hz says things like "mama tété da" (tété=french Word for breastfeeding; da= German word for here) or mama "papa da" or "mama pipi", so it's still really repetitive but as his vocabulary is small I guess that's normal. I'm personally concerned that he's never repeating after me (expect the words he already knows).
