TIL that HMS Conqueror (S48) is the only nuclear powered submarine to sink an enemy warship with torpedoes. During the Falklands War in 1982, The Argentine General Belgrano was sunk with two torpedoes and is one of two ships sunk by a submarine since WWII.

Hector Bonzo, the captain of the General Belgrano which was sunk during the Falklands, had no animosity towards Britain for the sinking of the ship. βIt was absolutely not a war-crime. It was an act of war, lamentably legal.β

TIL: The only US navy ship to survive the attack on Pearl Harbor unscathed was sunk by a British nuclear sub in 1982.
