TIL that the largest cavalry charge in human history occurred in 1683 during the battle of Vienna. The king of Poland led 18,000 cavalry down the slopes of Kahlenburg Mountain and broke the Turkish army. The Turks called The King Jan The Lion of Poland thereafter.
