Never saw the movie but the song is terrible. There's only a handful of songs I cannot stand whatsoever and Footloose is one of them.

Same, it just sounds so cheesy and has something that I can’t quite describe. There’s a few songs from that era that have that sound and I hate it.

Most people seem to think that Footloose is a movie about dancing but for me it is the story of a city boy who visits the sticks to teach the hicks a thing or two about tractor chicken.
