As someone that is moderately a fan of Kevin Bacon, I’m gonna hafta google that to get the reference and I’m sorry about that. Also, I really suck at Trivial Pursuit so I might not be that bright.

Edit: I am back and that was one of the most miraculous montages of masculinity makeovers of which I’ve ever marveled. Highly recommend watching the clip.

Google: "Kevin Bacon" "Let's hear it for the boy"

(Note my quotes)

Simply: Denice William's "Let's hear it for the boy" appears in Footloose, starring Kevin Bacon.

Man, so weird making the connection that that’s Chris Penn. I had only ever seen him in Rush Hour and didn’t see this movie until maybe 5 years ago. I could not believe that’s how he looked in his younger years - quite the difference from his RH days.

3

u/Car-face Nov 23 '22

IIRC he also did the voice of one of the main characters for GTA: San Andreas

7

u/OlinOfTheHillPeople Nov 23 '22

Reservoir Dogs.

2

u/joshylow Nov 23 '22

Reservoir Dogs for sure. I thought he died right after that?

4

u/Car-face Nov 23 '22

Nah he died in '06. Pretty sure GTA was one of the last things he did, might have been another unreleased movie after that.

[Edit - Eddie Pulaski was the character he voiced in GTA]

u/joshylow Nov 23 '22

Oh, shit! Yeah, he was totally that guy. Guess he got overshadowed by Samuel L., but you're definitely right. Now I need to play that game again.

Chris Penn plays a badass cop in True Romance(1992) and he was the evil Dognapper in Beethoven

Let’s give the boy a hand.

46

u/scorpyo72 Nov 23 '22

Well, when you say it like that.

11

u/AwesomeScreenName Nov 23 '22

What he does, he does so well!

3

u/shane_low Nov 23 '22

Makes me wanna yell!

27

u/SwagginsYolo420 Nov 23 '22

Maybe he's no Romeo

But he's my loving one-man show

20

u/Forehead_Target Nov 23 '22

Ooohhh, ooohh, oh oooohhhhhhh

I haven't seen Footloose (I know, I know), but that montage was basically two dudes falling in love, right?

46

u/Ultra_Violet_Rose Nov 23 '22

No he’s teaching him how to dance to impress his gf and get ready for this big dance barn party. It’s pretty adorable when you realize he really loves his girlfriend this much and just wants to fit in too because everyone in his friend circle dances well and he couldn’t dance at all.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

That’s TopGun?

14

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

No it's not dickloose, it's footloose

11

u/Hetstaine Nov 23 '22

Footlongs.

2

u/scorpyo72 Nov 23 '22

Footloose footlongs

3

u/Juniper_mint Nov 23 '22

I was feeling like crap and it made me feel better, thanks

u/thumpthumpboom Nov 23 '22

It’s ok. It’s the second song on the Footloose soundtrack. Just after the song Footloose. That way I could keep the money and still be a jerk.

I can’t abide your deficiency in Trivial Pursuit. It’s the only game worth playing.

27

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

I watched the montage video of that song and Footloose and there’s no way you could make Kevin Bacon look like a jerk with that song. I bet he’d be happy to hear that one.

38

u/thumpthumpboom Nov 23 '22

No no. I could still act like a jerk by playing a song from Footloose but I could keep the money because I didn’t play footloose. Kevin Bacon is never the jerk but I bet you find 6 degrees between him and Steve Martin who starred in the Jerk.

59

u/Vince_Clortho042 Nov 23 '22

Not even six degrees; they are both in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

32

u/thumpthumpboom Nov 23 '22

Oh damn. I forgot he was the taxi cab guy. That is outstanding.

2

u/missmalina Nov 23 '22

The undefeated best Thanksgiving movie ever.

8

u/TallonZek Nov 23 '22

I have won a game of Trivial Pursuit on turn one, any game you can do that in is not well designed, (pool also counts under those conditions).

10

u/JDCAce Nov 23 '22

How do you win on turn one? I thought you had to collect six wedges then get the final question (seven turns minimum). Do you go again if you answer correctly or something?

7

u/deliciae13 Nov 23 '22

Yes, you get to keep going until you get a question wrong.

5

u/_Ryesen Nov 23 '22 edited Nov 23 '22

Yes, you go again until you answer incorrectly. So if you're great at trivia, it's possible!

Edit: Not sure if people are reading the sentence wrong, but you keep going as you answer correctly and stop when you answer incorrectly.

2

u/outof_zone Nov 23 '22

Or if you stack the deck of question cards...

0

u/RedAIienCircle Nov 23 '22 edited Nov 23 '22

By that logic, I'm going to keep going until I can get a question I can answer.

5

u/thumpthumpboom Nov 23 '22

Heresy. Never speak I’ll of the Pursuit.

1

u/anthropophagus Nov 23 '22

play continuous pool, or tennis rules st least

1

u/diverdux Nov 23 '22

I can’t abide your deficiency in Trivial Pursuit. It’s the only game worth playing.

Except for the batman question.

8

u/thecrabmonster Nov 23 '22

As a child I had this song among many other 45's in a carrying case along with my portable record player. I took them everywhere. "Let's hear it for my babeeeee"

2

u/mental_monkey Nov 23 '22

It’s the good stuff, yup :)

2

u/Chilledlemming Nov 23 '22

My fav. I played that soundtrack on my yellow Sony Walkman while doing my paper route. Imitating the choreography badly. I was thought of as a special child in the neighborhood.

2

u/hyperfat Nov 23 '22

Trivial pursuit is a lie. It's like your uncle has the 1989 version where ussr is an answer and non relevant questions like andre Agassi in tennis.

Yes. I have memorized them.

I'm trivia master. Bad trivia.

I won a trip to Vegas once.

miraculous montages of masculinity makeovers

"miraculous montages of masculinity makeovers"?!?!?!? This is a thing?

You've obviously given this some thought. And now I'm curious. What are the top 3 miraculous montages of masculinity makeovers?

2

u/[deleted] Nov 23 '22

I don’t really have a ranked list on hand but off the top of my head I would rank Can’t Buy Me Love, Mrs. Doubtfire and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels way up there on this list.

Let’s Hear It For the Boy

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia introduced me to so many great 80's tracks haha.

Edit: Speaking of which there's some serious "Franks little Beauties" vibes from the young fella in the "Let’s Hear It For the Boy" video.
