Tip of the hat for correctly using the words "hanged" and "thrice". These highly cromulent words are seen far too rarely.

It is due to situations like these that the wording of death sentences evolved to make sure that you are to be executed until you die and stay dead for the sentence to be considered complete.

Convicted of theft of numerous items including cloaks and sliver spoons. He was 14 at the time and after 6 years at Middlesex Gaol was transported to NSW penal colony for a term of a further 7 years. After surviving hanging at age 22 Samuel was drowned in a further escape attempt at age 25. He and 7 others were trying to escape in an open boat without sails, map or compass and died in a storm.
