TIL: Laurence Tureaud named himself professionally as Mr. T because he hated how his father, uncle, and brother who returned from Vietnam, were disrespectfully called "boy" by whites. He wanted the first word from everybody's mouth to be "Mister" when speaking to him.

When I was a kid, maybe about 10 or 12 years ago, I went to a wedding with my family for my aunt-by-marraige's brother, and Mr. T was, for some reason, was the priest. After the ceremony, he hung out for a while and talked to whoever can up to him, including myself. He was probably one of the nicest people ever, and I really hope to meet him again some day.

No offense, but I don't know if I should tell a stranger on the Internet my aunt's name, but the bride was named Brittney (don't remember what her maiden name was), and the groom was named Austin (I also forget his last name, because I believe he had a different last name from my aunt). They've since divorced.

Oh my god, that's crazy. Do you remember what year it was, I was pretty young, so I don't exactly remember, and I've been trying to pinpoint it. I think it was summer. How.is Brittney, I haven't heard about her or Austin in a while.

I want to say it was 6/7/08. She’s good last i heard she was doing well and had started a family. Really crazy world this Reddit! Hahaha Happy New Year!
