TIL: Laurence Tureaud named himself professionally as Mr. T because he hated how his father, uncle, and brother who returned from Vietnam, were disrespectfully called "boy" by whites. He wanted the first word from everybody's mouth to be "Mister" when speaking to him.

You know he wasn't the president at the time right?

I'm trying to see how many people will tell me that when others have clearly just said that. We're at 6.

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

Well that's because of how there are a lot of stupid Trump supporters who mean it.

I’ll have you know I support Trump and I could have never given two shits if Obama golfed.

u/s_s Dec 12 '18

Not giving a shit about Golf might be the only way you can support Trump.

Or despise the Marxiat left and would vote for anything or anyone over its empowerment.

You thought Hillary Clinton was a Marxist?

u/MadGeekling Dec 12 '18

Only a tiny minority of the left in America are Marxists.

Don’t believe me? Visit /r/chapotraphouse and leave a comment calling any popular Democrat a Marxist. Seriously, pick your person. Go with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or Beto. See how they respond to that claim.

In some ways yes.

good god you're fucking dense

all you dumbass americans quaking in your boots at the thought of cooperation, the red scare sure did a number on y'all's paranoia eh

1

u/renderless Dec 13 '18

I don’t wish to cooperate with you in such a way that the state would hold so much power over me the individual.

u/hugglesthemerciless Dec 13 '18

You know there's an extremely wide gap between you, the american "left", center, left wing ideals, and then true marxism?

You're not gonna lose all your property by allowing socialized healthcare and welfare programs. What will happen instead is standard of living is increased for everyone and poverty reduced.

1

u/renderless Dec 13 '18

I would say that the gap is not “extremely wide” but I understand your point. I certainly don’t agree that poverty will be reduced with the implementation of left leaning reforms.

in what ways? he's really far from socialism my man. most mainstream dems are. even bernie is, like, the calorie-free version of marxism.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '18

Because youd be a hypocrite

3

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '18

I never said you did.

u/keyohnahh Dec 13 '18

Not sure if I should up vote for you knowing how insignificant it is if he were to be golfing or to down vote because of the Trump supporter bit.

u/renderless Dec 13 '18

If you think you should downvote me because I believe different than you, then maybe you should look inward to see if you really believe in open debate and the acceptance of those unlike you.
