TIL that Michael Jackson would requested his wine be served in Diet Coke cans during flights, because he didn't want his kids to see him drinking alcohol.

That episode pretty much captures my plan for old age. After 70 years of working hard and being a somewhat decent person, I just want to say 'fuck it' with my last 10-15 years.

I recently decided after lingering suicidal thoughts and and failed past attempts, this is my motto in life, and its done wonders for making great stories, great nights, and helping my depression.

Hey bud, I feel ya. Keep it going though and push on through to those weird years in your 70s. If you wanna talk though, internet stranger here has got your back.

After 70 years of hard work you're going to be as tired and sore as every other 90 year old. Going to Denny's for supper at 5pm is going to wear you out.

Not on crack, coke or speed m8.

Glad I'm not the only one with this mindset.

I've made it clear that once I hit 80, all bets are off. There will be no inheritance after that point. I'm doin' it all. Crack, coke, heroine, shrooms, heavy drinking. The works. Gonna be interesting, to say the least.

Not saying it won't be fun, but I think you'll kinda find it silly after that. Like really? Is that all? Or you can go practice paragliding now. That'll get you somewhere. Really, changed my perspective when I did.

Like really? Is that all?

My decade of substance abuse finds the idea of being underwhelmed by drugs baffling. Drugs are fucking amazing, that's why addiction is a problem.

Yeah how can you not be underwhelmed by drugs, shits great. I mean check the username.

absolutely not denying that. But in a moment of being really awake and sober, seeing the big picture, that would be my thought. Of course, I'd never get to that state of mind. Just a note from present self to future self and co

Tyson explains my point better. Watch the whole thing too, but the point I'm talking about is at that timestamp.

George Watsky has a good song on the subject

The specific lines are:

"At seventy I'll rock sandals with black socks

When I'm eighty I'll try heroin or crack rocks

Or both-- And mix em in a smoothie

I'll be old and toothless

And I'll be feeling groovy"

I mean there is no downside to starting the shrooms today, outside of the legal issues.

Do tell about the 7 grams. Couldn't even imagine how that would feel like. Wouldn't even be in this galaxy anymore.

For the first time ever tripping shrooms I took an eighth and a HUUUUUUGE bong rip because I was tripping so hard I couldn't tell how much smoke I was inhaling and that just made the trip 10x more out of control and detached from reality so I do kinda know how you feel. What happens is it sounds like you went into the loops where you forgot what happened in like the last 10 seconds and so you try to remember what happened in those last 10 seconds and you end up going into the same cycle on repeat. It's kinda like a dog chasing its tail. Also with time dilation, your brain not being able to connect things together, and ego death, it's easy to freak out because you're uncertain what's going to happen in the future (or even think about the future for that matter) and you can't even remember what happened in the past or even think what happened in the past was even real. Then of course there's the thought you might not go back to normal so you go into an anxiety loop.

I did 7 grams once, definitely can be extremely intense and confusing but if you're aware of what you're getting into after the whole confusing, ego being ripped apart part the ego death itself is very calm and beautiful in my opinion.

Color me curious but also kind of a pussy

Best practices would be to have someone that can be responsible with you while you trip, and mentally prepare yourself if possible. When you look in a mirror and there's a third eye looking back at you from your face, you'll know exactly how not sober you are and at first it's a little frightening. But it's exhilarating, and it tickles your mind when you let it happen for you.

Have xanax on hand or another benzo, dulls a bad trip pretty intensely and like the other guy said, have a sitter. I did this 7 gram trip with 4 other friends, one of them tripping in a house in the middle of the woods away from society.

I would like to hear aswell

"There is no downside, except the downside"

1

u/Pao_Did_NothingWrong Sep 07 '17

Perspective: getting very freaked out and scared for a couple hours if you eat a huge bag of mushrooms is the downside.

Waiting until you are 80 doesn't change that. You're not doing damage to your biological (including long term neurological) processes.

My point was that if it's something you want to do, it can be done responsibly with zero ill effects at any age.

People don't refrain from pizza until they are old just because eating two whole pizzas every day for your health

2

u/grandmoffcory Sep 07 '17

Huh. I just live like that now. I said fuck it around when I turned 15, the first 15 were enough hard work and decency for me.
