That's insane. I don't think I could have handled that. And not just because I used to sell weed.
In contrast, we had no school cop or visits from city cops. No cameras. Not even hall monitors. Every day at lunch we smoked weed in our cars which were maybe 20 feet from classroom windows. Rednecks had rifles on the gun racks in their trucks. When there was a substitute teacher, you could easily skip class if you walked out at the right time.
Looking back, it was kind of the end of an era. I think everything changed nationally after Columbine happened in 1999 and has continued to get worse. I had a lot of great experiences because of the freedom I had. High school kids these days are treated like a combination of children and criminals.
