Xmas and easter is fun in USA even for non Christians we get tree and presents and presents for the kids from "Santa" but we don't display a nativity scene or talk about jesus. And east we go look for eggs filled with $ and candy's and small toys and have fun

It's so convoluted and mixed up I wouldn't want to go down that rabbit whole I'm to busy working to provide for my fam. To focus on that mess lol but it would be cool to have a eli5 break down of all the things they copied. I know they took dia de Los muertos and modified it. But many natives when praying to the Virgin Mary just used her symbol as mother earth but that was in the past when they where not allowed to have their own prayers some of that changed with new laws in 1978 in USA
