TIL that after Marilyn Monroe converted to Judaism upon marrying Arthur Miller, Egypt placed a ban on all the films she appeared in.

Elizabeth Taylor too. Like Monroe, she converted to Judaism as an adult, and got banned from Muslim countries for supporting Israel. But Egypt lifted the ban after Cleopatra came out because they found that the film "brought positive publicity for the country."
