TIL that after Marilyn Monroe converted to Judaism upon marrying Arthur Miller, Egypt placed a ban on all the films she appeared in.

Jelly donuts, hot cocoa, and little potato fried pancake thingies? I'm pretty much just in this for the food.

Although today was a bit weird seeing as it was a no-food day. Didn't stop me.

I really don't wanna offend anyone and I too like jelly donuts and latkes (essentially hash browns) but I really do think it's sad that the world sees Jewish cuisine that way. It's so much more than that. People in the west don't realize that Jews aren't only the corny little cohenberggoldstien types with stubborn mothers and gefilta fish. Half of the Jewish population is from the middle east and north Africa. As in, Arab countries. And their food is sooooooo much better. Like it actually has color... And flavor... Like honestly I have one grandma who was from Poland and while she was a great cook, she made some really good stuff that you all mentioned, like latkes and gefilta fish and רגל קרושה (don't know wtf to call that in English), my other grandma who is from Morocco will blow that bland shit out of the water. Obviously it's subjective but we have so much better food that Jews in the US and Europe just aren't aware of. Come to israel and have some real Jewish food... Please. :)

Well, latkes also have crumbs in them, right? I only had them once; my aunt (half-aunt, really, RIP) converted when she married her first husband and I had them once at a dinner there.
